Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Swayamsevak and senior BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav was murdered by injecting a poisonous substance into his stomach by three unidentified bike-borne assailants. The gruesome crime took place in broad daylight on March 10, afternoon in Dawthra Himachal village, Junawai block, leaving the political fraternity in shock.

According to eyewitnesses and the victim’s final words, three men approached Yadav while he was seated at his cattle enclosure, just 300 meters from his residence. They engaged him in conversation before one of them suddenly injected a deadly substance into his stomach. Despite his deteriorating condition, Yadav ran after them, but collapsed within moments. His desperate attempt to seek help ended in tragedy as he succumbed on the way to Aligarh hospital.

Gulfam Singh Yadav’s son, Divya Prakash, has claimed that his father identified the attackers before losing consciousness. “We know who did this. My father named them. This is not just a murder, this is an assassination,” he stated, demanding an immediate probe. The Superintendent of Police, Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, confirmed that the attack was carried out using a lethal injection, raising speculation about a political conspiracy behind the murder.

Yadav, had gone to his cattle enclosure on March 10 afternoon, where two laborers were working on construction. At around 1 PM, three men arrived on a motorcycle. They greeted Yadav and struck up a conversation.

One of the attackers stepped outside the enclosure, seemingly keeping watch. The other two sat down near Yadav, pretending to engage in discussion. Within five minutes, one of them suddenly pulled out a syringe and injected a lethal substance directly into his stomach. The attackers immediately fled the scene.

Investigators found a small puncture wound on Yadav’s stomach, with surrounding skin turning blue, a strong indicator of poison injection. The forensic team recovered a needle and a helmet believed to belong to one of the attackers from the crime scene. The viscera has been preserved for further analysis, and police are awaiting the forensic report to determine the exact poison used. Senior surgeon Dr. Magan Mehrotra of Moradabad suspects cyanide could have been used, stating, “Cyanide shuts down the body’s oxygen supply within moments. If injected, death is almost immediate.”

Gulfam Singh Yadav, 65, was a well-known BJP leader and RSS functionary with a long history in politics, making his murder highly suspicious, with many pointing to political enmity as a possible motive. He began his journey as an RSS district worker in Badaun in 1976 and later contested the Gunnaur Assembly by-election in 2004 on a BJP ticket against the then Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Over the years, he held several key positions in the party, including State Executive Member, Regional Vice President (Western UP), and General Secretary of Badaun district. He was also a member of the Uttar Pradesh Backward Class Commission.

His political influence extended to his family, as his wife, Javitri Devi, is currently serving her third term as the village head, while his son, Divya Prakash, is a former Junawai Block Pramukh. Given his stature and past political rivalries, authorities are closely investigating the possibility of a politically motivated assassination.

This chilling murder comes just days after a similar case in Bareilly, where a police constable allegedly hired a contract killer to murder his wife using a poisonous injection. The eerie resemblance between the two cases has raised concerns about a sinister new method of assassination.

SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi assured that the case will be cracked soon. “We have strong evidence, including CCTV footage. Eight police teams are working on this case, and the culprits will be arrested soon,” he stated. The forensic team has collected crucial fingerprints and is analysing evidence.

The brutal murder of senior BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav ignited massive outrage across the region. Hundreds of BJP workers, RSS members, and Yadav’s supporters gathered in Aligarh and Sambhal, demanding immediate arrests and strict action against the perpetrators. Local BJP leaders have convened an urgent meeting to address growing security concerns for political figures in the state. Meanwhile, Yadav’s supporters and family members assembled at the post-mortem center, demanding swift justice for the slain leader.
