The Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, the women’s wing affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), launched its two-day All India Executive and Delegation Meeting at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati campus today. RSS Sarsanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat delivered the keynote address, underscoring the organisation’s focus on social service and cultural preservation.

The gathering, attended by 107 representatives from 34 provinces, began with tributes to late dignitaries, soldiers, and citizens lost to recent disasters. Vandaniya Chief Director Shantakka ji and Chief Executive Sita Gayatri ji presided over the inaugural session, which reviewed progress on agenda items from the previous half-yearly meeting.

According to internal reports, the Samiti now operates 4,125 branches across 12 regions and 38 provinces, with outreach in 834 of India’s 1,042 districts. Currently, 1799 service projects spanning education, healthcare, and community welfare—are active nationwide.

Special Outreach Campaigns:

The meeting showcased the Samiti’s recent mass outreach efforts:

Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar Trishatabdi: Over 4.74 lakh citizens were engaged through 3,850 programs at 2,405 locations, including tree plantations, river clean-ups, temple maintenance drives, and public awareness events.

Vande Mataram 150th Anniversary: 7 lakh citizens participated in 3,420 events celebrating the patriotic hymn.

Saints’ Anniversaries: Programs marked the 550th birth anniversary of Saint Mirabai and the 350th death anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, focusing on their teachings of devotion and unity.

Agenda for the Next Two Days:

Delegates will deliberate on strategies to address India’s evolving “social and cultural landscape” and expand the Samiti’s reach. Discussions include enhancing training programs (shiksha vargs) and boosting volunteer recruitment to meet rising demand for community services.

With its network now penetrating 80% of India’s districts, the Samiti aims to deepen its impact in underserved regions.
