Mahakumbh Nagar: As millions of devotees continues to flock to ‘Tirthraj’ Prayag to take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence point of Maa Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, a significant number of devotees from the Janjati (Adivasi) communities have also arrived in the holy city for a mega gathering.

Around 10000 youths hailing from the Janjati communities from across the country gathered to participate in ‘Janjatiya Yuva Mahakumbh’, on Thursday morning, February 6. The Yuva Mahakumbh is being organised as part of the grand gathering of the people of tribal communities in Prayagraj.

The two-days long youth conference is being attended by thousands of volunteers associated with various welfare initiatives and service-oriented programs run by the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA) across far fledged areas of the country, inhabited by Janjati communities.

Speaking with Organiser, Birbal Singh, the Akhil Bharatiya Pramukh of one of the Prakalps run by the ABVKA informed, that “Janjatiya youths from every region including, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal, Sikkim, Meghalya, Assam, Tripura of Northeast, Jammu & Kashmir, Himanchal, Uttarakhand, Gujrat, Rajasthan etc. have arrived for the Yuva Mahakumbh.”

“Youth participants in large numbers have also arrived from the Madhya Prant which includes states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. A significant number of youths from states such as Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have also made it to the Yuva Mahakumbh,” he added.

“One can sense the real essence of Bharatiya culture at Mahakumbh, there are lots of political narratives linked with castes and discrimination being floated around in the country, but look at here. When you participate in Kumbh nobody will enquire about your caste, in fact everyone is taking a dip at the same Ghat,” he said.

“Here the sants organises feast for everyone without enquiring anything, this is the true realisation of Sanatan (Ye Sanatan ki asli anubhuti hai) of which Adivasi community is an unalienable part. The Janjati communities worship Bhagwan with their unique methods of worship, this includes traditional dancing and singing, in order to serve their Bhagwan,” he added further.

The Yuva Mahakumbh marks the beginning of a mega gathering of the people of the Janjati communities being organised at Prayagraj under the banner of Seva Prakalp Sansthan (a body affiliated to the ABVKA) from February 6 to February 10, on the occasion of Mahakumbh.

“About 25,000 tribal devotees from all over the country will be present and will take a pledge to protect their dharma,’sanskriti and parampara, informed Seva Prakalp Sansthan Secretary Salil Nemani on Wednesday, February 5.

The four-days long conference of the Janjati communities will feature a series of cultural programs, a grand procession and a conference of sants and eminent personalities of the community.

A grand ‘shobha yatra’ of sants and devotees of the Janjati communites will be organised on February 7 where the participants dressed in their traditional attire will reach the sacred Triveni Sangam to take a holy dip.

As many as one hundred fifty dance groups of various communities from all over the country have also arrived and will take part in the program, showcasing their traditional dance and music.

“They will send out the message of Tu Main Ek Rakt (the mojo of the ABVKA) to the world ,” said the organising body in a press issue. These programs will be held on February 7, February 8 and February 9.

The mega gathering will conclude with the conference of sants and other prominent personalities of the community who will share their views on the customs, culture, faith and traditions of the Janjatiya Samaj (society). The conference will be attended by Mahamandaleshwar Yatindranand Giri Ji Maharaj, Swami Avadheshanand Giri Ji and other revered sants.
