Mahakumbh Nagar: As millions of devotees continues to flock to ‘Tirthraj’ Prayag to take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence point of Maa Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, a significant number of devotees from the Janjati (Adivasi) communities have also arrived in the holy city for a mega gathering.
Around 10000 youths hailing from the Janjati communities from across the country gathered to participate in ‘Janjatiya Yuva Mahakumbh’, on Thursday morning, February 6. The Yuva Mahakumbh is being organised as part of the grand gathering of the people of tribal communities in Prayagraj.
The two-days long youth conference is being attended by thousands of volunteers associated with various welfare initiatives and service-oriented programs run by the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA) across far fledged areas of the country, inhabited by Janjati communities.
Speaking with Organiser, Birbal Singh, the Akhil Bharatiya Pramukh of one of the Prakalps run by the ABVKA informed, that “Janjatiya youths from every region including, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal, Sikkim, Meghalya, Assam, Tripura of Northeast, Jammu & Kashmir, Himanchal, Uttarakhand, Gujrat, Rajasthan etc. have arrived for the Yuva Mahakumbh.”
“Youth participants in large numbers have also arrived from the Madhya Prant which includes states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. A significant number of youths from states such as Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have also made it to the Yuva Mahakumbh,” he added.
“One can sense the real essence of Bharatiya culture at Mahakumbh, there are lots of political narratives linked with castes and discrimination being floated around in the country, but look at here. When you participate in Kumbh nobody will enquire about your caste, in fact everyone is taking a dip at the same Ghat,” he said.
“Here the sants organises feast for everyone without enquiring anything, this is the true realisation of Sanatan (Ye Sanatan ki asli anubhuti hai) of which Adivasi community is an unalienable part. The Janjati communities worship Bhagwan with their unique methods of worship, this includes traditional dancing and singing, in order to serve their Bhagwan,” he added further.
