Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief pujari at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, faced a sudden health emergency when he developed difficulty breathing. He was initially admitted to Shri Ram Hospital in Ayodhya but was quickly referred to the Trauma Center and later transferred to Lucknow PGI for more advanced care.
Dr Arun Kumar Singh of the Ayodhya City Neuro Center confirmed that Acharya Das’s condition is critical. A CT scan revealed that he had suffered a brain haemorrhage, which affects several areas of the brain. Given the severity of the condition, the pujari was transferred to Lucknow PGI for specialised treatment.
The news of his sudden illness has caused concern among both the temple administration and his countless devotees, who regard him as a key spiritual figure. Acharya Satyendra Das has been actively involved in the religious rituals and ceremonies at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex since the onset of the Ram Mandir construction.
Assistant pujari Pradeep Das, who works alongside Acharya Satyendra Das, confirmed the chief pujari’s deteriorating health and expressed hope for his swift recovery. The temple administration continues to monitor the situation, hoping for a positive outcome.
Since his appointment as chief pujari, Acharya Satyendra Das has been instrumental in overseeing religious practices, guiding the temple’s daily rituals, and participating in key events. His role has become especially significant as the construction of the Ram Mandir progresses, drawing large crowds to the site.
Currently, Acharya Satyendra Das is under constant medical supervision. His condition remains critical, with doctors monitoring his progress closely.
