Guwahati: A viral video featuring six Islamists butchering a cow during a picnic in the Chaygaon riverine area in Kamrup district of Assam offends the state’s Hindu population and is a violation of the Cattle Protection Act of 2021. Many people are upset and incensed about a video that went viral that depicts a cow being killed during a picnic in Assam, especially the Hindu community there. A number of guys shared the video, which shows the cruel practice of killing cows. It has sparked intense feelings and raised questions about religious sensitivity.

Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh informed in his X handle that six people were under arrest for their involvement in the public slaughter of livestock during a picnic in Assam. The charges come after a contentious video of the act being performed in a public setting went viral on social media.

For killing a cow during a picnic and posting the footage on social media, six people have been arrested by Guwahati police. After a report was filed at the Hatigaon Police Station, the arrests were made. All of the accused, who were from Aslapara in Kamrup district of Chhaygaon, were arrested. The arrested individuals were identified as Sahil Khan, Hafizur Islam, Rakibul Hussain, Zahidul Islam, and Ijaz Khan.

For additional questioning, all six are being taken to the Hatigaon Police Station. Particularly in view of the Assam government’s recent decision to reinforce the Cattle Preservation Act, the episode has garnered a great deal of public attention. The Assam Cabinet outlawed the state’s public consumption of beef in December of last year, including the serving of meat in lodging facilities, dining establishments, and social events. Police in the city are investigating further of the episode.
