Delhi Mahila Samman Yojna: WCD alerted women ‘No such scheme notified’ after Arvind Kejriwal’s Rs 2100 announcement

The WCD Department stated it had learned through media reports and social media posts that a political party was conducting a door-to-door registration drive, allegedly to enrol women for the scheme. The Delhi Women and Child Development (WCD) Department has issued a public notice refuting claims about the purported ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana,’ and ‘Sanjeevni Scheme’ recently highlighted by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to provide monthly financial aid of Rs 2100 to women. The department clarified that no such scheme has been notified by the Delhi Government, raising concerns about fraudulent activities linked to its announcement.

Public Notice Warns Against Fraud

The WCD Department stated it had learned through media reports and social media posts that a political party was conducting a door-to-door registration drive, allegedly to enrol women for the scheme. In a strongly worded notice published in national newspapers, the department emphasised:

“No such scheme has been notified by the Delhi Government. The question of acceptance of forms or applications for registration under this non-existent scheme does not arise. Any private person or political party collecting forms or personal information in the name of this scheme is committing fraud and has no authority to do so.”

In a public notice, the Women and Child Development Department, Delhi Government has said that it received information through media reports and social media posts that a political party is claiming to give Rs 2100 per month to the women of Delhi under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila… pic.twitter.com/HLG4JMqY7s

These advertisements have unveiled AAP’s misleading yojana announcements, revealing that neither the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana nor the Sanjeevani Scheme are part of the Delhi Government’s official programs. These schemes are fake announcements, made by Arvind Kejriwal. Additionally, he has not allowed the implementation of Ayushman Bharat in Delhi, further disadvantaging senior citizens.

The department also warned citizens against sharing sensitive information, including personal details, bank account numbers, and voter ID information, as this could expose them to risks of cybercrime and financial fraud. It assured the public that any legitimate government scheme would be officially announced, and an online portal would be created for applications.

Political Controversy Erupts

The announcement has sparked a political row, with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kapil Mishra accusing former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of misleading the public. Sharing the WCD notice on social media platform X, Mishra stated:

“What a big fraud Kejriwal is doing with the sisters of Delhi. On one side, Kejriwal is getting women to fill out forms; on the other side, see the notice of the Delhi Government in today’s newspapers. The Delhi Government itself is advertising that there is no such scheme and these forms are fake.”

Mishra further called for accountability, criticising the AAP for allegedly exploiting women’s aspirations for political gain.

Kejriwal Dismisses Allegations

In response, Kejriwal dismissed the accusations, claiming that opponents were “deeply upset” with the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ and another initiative, the ‘Sanjeevani Yojana.’ Addressing the issue on X, Kejriwal alleged:

“These people are badly upset by the Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana. They have planned to arrest Atishi ji in the next few days by making a fake case. Before that, raids will be conducted on senior AAP leaders.”

महिला सम्मान योजना और संजीवनी योजना से ये लोग बुरी तरह से बौखला गए हैं।

WCD’s Assurance to Citizens

The WCD Department reiterated its commitment to transparency and public safety, advising citizens to stay vigilant against fraudulent activities. It emphasised that any official scheme would be communicated through verified government channels, ensuring applicants’ data security.
