A teenager left his home in distress after his parents converted to Christianity, leaving behind a letter that has brought the family’s internal conflict to light. The boy’s disappearance was reported on December 16 when his family filed an abduction case, prompting police to launch an investigation.
During their inquiry, the police discovered a letter left by the boy, which expressed his pain and discomfort following the family’s religious conversion. In the note, the boy reportedly wrote, “Mom-Dad, you gained everything by changing your religion, but you lost me. I cannot live in this religion.”
This letter became a crucial piece of evidence, revealing the emotional turmoil the boy experienced after his parents embraced Christianity three months ago.
The family, originally from the Madiyav area of Jaunpur, currently resides in a rented home in Bhauti town. The father earns a livelihood by selling clothes on a cart, and the household includes the boy’s mother and his younger brother, aged 13.
On the morning of December 14, around 4 a.m., the boy left home carrying an empty school bag and wearing a jacket. His disappearance went unnoticed until the family filed a missing person report two days later.
ACP Shikhar from Panki Police Station stated that while the boy’s letter does not explicitly mention any religion, investigations confirmed the parents’ recent conversion to Christianity. The police are actively pursuing leads to locate the missing boy and ensure his safe return.
According to neighbours, the family converted to Christianity approximately three months ago. However, the parents have refrained from making any public statements about the situation. The incident has left the local community in shock, sparking debates over the impact of religious conversions on familial harmony.
