“With this imposition, foreign visitors to Manipur will have their movements closely monitored and must obtain the required Protected Area Permit (PAP) in accordance with the Foreigners (Protected Areas) Order, 1958,” the statement released late Wednesday night stated. According to the statement, Manipur, Nagaland, and Mizoram now have Protected Area Permits again. The MHA statement also includes advisory for the security of the Manipur CM. As per the MHA advisory, the State administration has taken note of the warning from a security organization that advised Chief Minister N. Biren Singh did not travel by route through Kangpokpi district to Senapati district to attend a cultural function.
According to the statement, “An examination has revealed that Manipur does not have a Kuki Zo Council of this kind. This group’s legitimacy and place of inception are much under doubt. According to the statement, police are investigating the situation thoroughly and will file a formal complaint to determine the actual purpose and nature of these deceptive actions.
The authorities also urged the public “to exercise caution and not to pay heed to statements or claims from organisations of dubious origins, which have been surfacing recently with the apparent intention of creating confusion and unrest.” It urged individuals to stay alert and rely solely on reliable sources of information, stating that the State government is dedicated to preserving peace and harmony in the State.
The government stated in an official statement on Wednesday that the alleged Kuki Z o C ouncil’s headquarters are not in the district of Lamka in Manipur. According to the statement, this assertion strongly implies that these organizations, which function outside of the state’s legal and administrative frameworks, have external roots.
On Tuesday, the Kuki Zo Council, a dubious association of Kuki-Zo groups in trouble-torn Manipur, requested that Chief Minister N Biren Singh refrain from traveling by road through the Kuki-dominated Kangpokpi district in order to participate in the Robvena Ni festival in the Naga-dominated Senapati district.
