Guwahati: Massive protests held across Assam and Northeast against the continuous atrocities on Hindus by Islamist in Bangladesh. Organised by Lok Jagran Manch, the protest demands immediate stop of atrocities against Hindus living in the neighbouring country. Since the creation of Bangladesh, the Hindu community, their properties and their places of worship are being continuously attacked by Islamist. After the ouster of Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, the Hindus are brutally attacked by radical Islamist and the Hindu faith and religion are being targeted by the Islamist. On 3rd December Lok Jagran Manch organised a massive protest rally in Guwahati and across Assam. Thousands of people gathered in Guwahati and raised their voice against the continuous attacks. The protester also demands immediate release of arrested ISKCON sant Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu.
Thousands of people attended the nonviolent demonstration against the persecution of the Hindu minority in Bangladesh, our neighbor, at the designated location in Chachal, Guwahati. The demonstrators urged all Indians to take part in the fight to keep this old culture alive. Through the Kamrup Metropolitan District Commissioner, they also delivered a memorandum expressing their profound displeasure with the current situation to Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh.
Concerned residents and Lok Jagran Manch assembled at Court Chariali in Tezpur to express their disapproval of the recent arrest and imprisonment of monk Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh, sparking a massive demonstration. Additionally, the protesters denounced the crimes committed against Hindus and other religious minorities in the neighboring nation. Demanding justice for Hindus persecuted in Bangladesh, the Lok Jagran Manch Assam staged a large protest rally and demonstration in Kokrajhar also. The purpose of the gathering was to increase public awareness of the ongoing crimes committed against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Sivasagar, Assam, also saw protests against the crimes committed a with minorities, particularly Hindus, in Bangladesh. In Sivasagar, the Lok Jagaran Manch protested and denounced the assaults on Hindus. The demonstration, which took place at Sivasagar town’s Boarding Ground, called for the Center to take firm measures and guarantee the safety of Bangladeshi Hindus.
In Agartala, Tripura Police have increased security in reaction to the ‘Bangladesh Chalo Abhiyan’ demonstration, erecting barricades around the Akhaura Integrated Check Post (ICP). Permission to protest against the imprisonment of ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu and atrocities against minorities was refused. Kiran Kumar, SP West District, attested to the fact that additional security was put in place to protect the public.
Protest against the crime against Hindus in Bangladesh also held in Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar city. Hundreds of people gathered under the banner of Lok Jagran Manch and raised their voice against the atrocities on Hindus by Islamist in Bangladesh.
Protests were also held in all districts of Assam including Hojai, Nagaon, Dibruharh, Cachar, Sribhumu etc to unite all Hindus against the continuous attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh.
