In a shocking incident, a minor boy studying in Class 9, identified as Shailesh Yadav, was murdered in the Uttaraon police station area of Prayagraj on November 30. The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested five individuals, including a Muslim girl and her family members, on charges of involvement in the gruesome crime.

According to preliminary investigations, the murder is suspected to have been triggered by an alleged relationship between Shailesh and the Muslim girl, which reportedly angered her family. Among those arrested are the girl, her parents, her brother, and another close associate of the family.

Shailesh Yadav went missing on the evening of November 30 after receiving a phone call. His father, Ashwani Kumar Yadav, stated that Shailesh left home after answering the call but did not return. The family grew worried when he failed to come back even late at night. Efforts to reach him were in vain as his phone was switched off.

At around 11 p.m., Shailesh’s family began searching for him in their village, Ismail Lala Ka Pura. Tragically, they discovered his lifeless body near a pond, a mere 200 meters from their residence.

At the scene, the family found critical evidence, including a blood-stained axe, a mobile phone, and a pair of slippers. The police were immediately informed, and an investigation was launched. Initial findings revealed that Shailesh had been struck on the head with a shovel, leading to fatal injuries.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Shailesh and the girl were in a relationship despite repeated warnings from her family to end all contact. The police suspect that the boy was lured to the location under the pretext of a meeting and was subsequently killed.

The pair of slippers and the mobile phone found at the scene were identified as belonging to the girl’s father. Based on this evidence, the police arrested the girl, her parents, her brother, and another individual associated with the family.

The incident has sparked communal tensions in the village, as the victim and the accused belong to different religious communities. To prevent any escalation, additional police forces have been deployed in the area.

The body of the victim has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and further interrogation of the accused is underway.

The murder has left the community in shock and mourning. Residents have expressed outrage over the incident, demanding strict action against the perpetrators. Local authorities are urging restraint and appealing for calm as investigations continue.
