Muhammad Yunus calls ISKCON a fanatic group, while jihadist Ansarullah Bangla Team a Messiah of peace

The audacious attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh do not seem to be ending. In the midst of this, Dhaka has called ISKCON a religious fanatic group. This is the heights of hypocrisy by Muhammad Yunus a Hindu hater and supporter of Islamist biggots

With each passing day, the caretaker of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, proves that he is not just an outright Western stooge but a rabid Hindu hater as well. The persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh has gone from bad to worse.

Yunus basically has two sets of rules for Islamists and Hindus. On the one hand, Bangladesh is investigating ISKCON as a religious fundamentalist organisation. On the other, it is allowing the members of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) to have a field day in attacking Hindus. While one cannot name a single instance of ISKCON being involved in any act of terror, let alone violence, the list where the ABT is concerned is very large.

The mention of the ABT in the current situation is important because after Yunus took over, he made two major calls. First was to lift the ban on the Jamaat-e-Islami, and second was the release of Jashimuddin Rahmani, chief of the Islamist outfit ABT.

Rahmani was released despite being a convicted criminal. He was convicted for abetting the murder of a blogger and activist. He is also a vocal supporter of the terror outfit Al Qaeda that was founded by Osama bin Laden.

Following the release of Rahmani, the Yunus administration also released two prominent faces linked to Jamaat-e-Islami—Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Azmi and lawyer Ahmad Bin Quasem. The ABT has been a banned outfit in India for a long for known acts of terror and the danger that it poses.

Soon after his release, he called for violent jihad against India. He also sought the support of Pakistan and Afghanistan to help liberate Jammu and Kashmir from Bharat.

Terror by ABT

The ABT is a pan-Islamist terrorist organisation which has been implicated in several cases. These include murders and robberies, among others. At one point in time, the ABT targeted atheist bloggers between 2013 and 2015.

Taking into account these incidents, the Bangladesh government had banned the outfit in 2015. Investigations have found that the group is closely associated with the Islamic Chhatra shibin, the violent students’ wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami. Coming to Rahmani, he takes inspiration from Anwar-al-Awlaki, the Al Qaeda preacher who was killed by the United States. Rahmani was instrumental in transforming the ABT into a terrorist organisation, and a dossier on him by the Intelligence Bureau states that he took five years to do so.

The outfit is responsible for the murders of Ahmed Rajib Haider, Asif Mohiuddin, Avijit Roy, Oyasiqur Rahman, Ananta Bijoy Das and AKM Shafiul Islam who were bloggers and atheists. This was done with the intention of spreading terror in the county and to remind the people that there is no place for those who do not follow Islam.

The outfit was also involved in a major bank robbery case. The case related to the robbery at the Bangladesh Commerce Bank in 2015. The terrorists, during this robbery, held the bank officials hostage. When some of them tried to foil the robbery, the ABT terrorists went on a stabbing spree in which three were killed and two others injured.

Activities in India

The ABT does not just confine itself to Bangladesh. It has a known history of undertaking operations in Bharat as well. In May this year, an operation by the outfit to set up a module in Guwahati was busted. The police arrested Rarely Mia and Bahar Mia. On further investigation, it was found that the ABT was setting up modules for the Al Qaeda in the Subcontinent.

Another probe found that the ABT also had close links with the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, which is known for carrying out attacks in Bharat. The joint operation by the two outfits was launched in 2022, by which they were in the process of setting up modules in West Bengal. The idea was to promote illegal infiltration into Bharat and also carry out strikes across the country.

The outfit currently has nearly 100 cadres in Bharat. Recently, an infiltration bid by ABT jihadis was foiled by the Tripura police. It was found that this was part of their larger plan of setting up as many modules in the country.

Following the ouster of Hasina, while Rahmani was released, scores of others broke out of jail. Some jailed jihadis were freed by an armed mob attack on a high-security prison in Sherpur, which borders Meghalaya. Over 500 inmates escaped in that attack and one of them was Ikramul Haque alias Abu Talha. It may be recalled that the highly dangerous Talha had been arrested on the basis of the Intelligence provided by Bharat.

This escape by the jihadis should not be viewed as an isolated incident. An Intelligence Bureau official tells Organiser that there is a good chance that this could spill over into the Northeast. In fact, the situation is very alarming for the states of Assam and Tripura, where the maximum number of ABT modules have been busted. Between the years 2002 and 2023, over 60 members of this dreaded group have been arrested. Of these, at least 30 of them are Bangladeshi nationals.

Puppet of many, master of none

The manner in which the incidents are unfolding in Bangladesh clearly shows that Yunus is a puppet of the West, Pakistan and the Jamaat-e-Islami. Upon the instructions of the deep state, he orchestrated the protests by the students with a specific intention of overthrowing the Sheikh Hasina government. Once that was done, he was rewarded and made the head of the country until the elections were held.

Once he was in power, he played to the script of the Jamaat. Every order that he issues follows a directive from the Jamaat. This explains the release of Rahmani who is a blue eye boy of the Jamaat. The ABT is used to ensure the implementation of the Islamic law and the release clearly indicates what these terror outfits are looking for.

Yunus also plays the script written by Pakistan. The enemy nation has always wanted Bangladesh to become an Islamic nation following its liberation. Now is the best time for them since they have their puppet Yunus at the helm of affairs.

Yunus seems to be blinded by all these factors and has allowed the targeting of Hindus, who are a persecuted minority in Bangladesh. On the other hand, he does not oblige requests from New Delhi despite being fully aware that Bharat is a country that is beneficial for the economy.

Bangladesh watchers say that Yunus is playing with fire and this will not go on for too long. Things will eventually change for the better or worse, and that will largely depend on whose script the Hindu hater Yunus decides to follow.
