Imphal: The barbaric act of Kuki terrorists who abducted and killed 6 innocent Meiteis would shame mankind for sure. A 3-year-old kidnapped boy was brutally tortured and killed by firing from point blank into his face by the brutal terrorists.

The killings of three members of a Meitei family who were purportedly kidnapped by armed terrorists during a confrontation with security forces in Jiribam district on November 11 have been described in graphic detail in an autopsy report. The victims were shot several times before their remains were disposed of in a river, according to the report. One of the victims was a 3-year-old boy who took a bullet to the jaw and lost his right eye. The body, which was highly deteriorated and maggot-infested, had lacerations and other indications of blunt force trauma, according to the autopsy. His grandmother received five bullet wounds, while the boy’s mother had two gunshot wounds on herself.

After much search by the security forces on 15, 17, and 18 November, the family’s decaying remains were found floating in a river in the Lakhipur district of Assam. The 6 bodies of the killed persons were sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for autopsy.

According to investigators, the victims were murdered on the same day they were kidnapped. Supposedly taken after their kidnapping, the victims’ photo went viral on social media on November 12. First posted on Facebook, the picture depicted the family crouched in a wooded area. The investigation into the account’s origin is still ongoing. Following the case’s transfer to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on November 18, an NIA team traveled to Jiribam.

The state was outraged at the killings of the six Internally Displaced People (IDP) who were taking refuge in Borobekra Police Station, where around 45 heavily armed Kuki terrorists attacked on 11th November. Later 6 persons including 3 women and 3 children were kidnapped by Kuki terrorists after the gunfight. 11 terrorists were killed in security forces retaliation.  Manipur saw a series of violent protests after the kidnapped persons were killed. Several houses of MLAs and ministers were set on fire by an angry mob. Over two dozen people involved in the arson cases have been arrested by police so far. CM N Biren Singh assured the public that all perpetrators involved in the brutal killings of 6 innocent Meitei people will be brought to justice.
