On November 10, 2024, Rashtra Sevika Samiti Delhi Prant organised a unique program, Shakha Sangam, which presented a distinctive example of self-confidence and nation-building by women.
More than 1,000 Sevikas, including young girls, youth, middle-aged women, and elderly women trained as Sevikas, showcased an impressive example of women’s coordination in the ‘Ganvesh’ (uniform) of the Samiti. Prospective Sevikas who were yet to be trained also attended. More than 150 dignitaries and women of repute from Delhi Prant graced the event, encouraging the Sevikas with their presence.
The basic unit of Rashtra Sevika Samiti’s reach and penetration is the Shakha. In this unique format, the Shakha facilitates the overall development of Sevikas through yoga, sports, talent development, nation-building, and social well-being. At Shakha Sangam, Sevikas from 30 Shakhas of Delhi Prant presented salutations to the saffron flag, recited prayers in unison, performed Surya Namaskar, showcased synchronised group exercises, and practiced yoga. The scale and coordination were impeccable.
Paying homage to Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar on her 3rd centenary year, a yoga presentation was dedicated to her in admiration, along with a melodious rendition titled Karma Yogini Raj Yogini, attributed to her character and disposition.
Smt Riva Sood, Managing Director of Agriva Naturally, and Smt Shashi Bubna, a social worker, graced the program as chief guests. Riva Sood inspired the attendees with encouraging and motivational words.
Rashtra Sevika Samiti will celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2026. On this occasion, Delhi Prant has set a target to train 900 Sevikas and prepare 90 instrumentalists and vocalists. The Prant will organise a grand procession showcasing their talent and strength. Akhil Bhartiya Pramukh Sanchalika Shanta Kumari Ji described this goal as an essential step for nation-building and the advancement of women, aiming to inspire the youth and girl children and instill in them a strong sense of national consciousness regarding the role of women in society.
