Rashtra Sevika Samiti has expressed its deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the passing of Padma Vibhushan Shri Ratan Tata. “Ratan Tata was a priceless gem just like his name”, reads an official statement of the Sevika Samiti.
“Ratan Tata was not only a renowned industrialist but also a dedicated social worker and a true patriot. As the former Chairman of the Tata Group, he played a pivotal role in advancing Bharat’s industrial sector and uplifting its economy to new heights”, the statement reads.
“Ratan ji gave his full contribution for the development of Bharat’s industrial sector. As a great leader he used to encourage the young generation for new inventions. Due to his work, Bharatiya economy touched exalted heights. He was a man of discipline and ingenuous personality”, the statement further reads.
Calling Ratan Tata a visionary and a great thinker, the Sevika Samiti official statement reads, “The life of Ratan Tata, who worked as an employee in his own company and donated more than 60 per cent of his business income for the welfare of society, has been an inspiration for many people”.
Earlier, Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghachalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), also paid his tributes to Ratan Tata and said that, Bharat has lost an invaluable gem.
Paying tribute to Ratan Tata, Dr Mohan Bhagwat and Dattatreya Hosabale, Sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) stated, “The demise of Bharat’s renowned industrialist, Ratan Tata, has caused immense sorrow for all Bharatiyas. With his demise, Bharat has lost an invaluable gem. His contribution in the journey of Bharat’s progress will ever be remembered. With innovative and impactful initiatives, he established many of the highest standards in critical areas of business. He always associated himself with a host of socially useful activities. Whether it is a matter related to the national integrity or new initiative for the development of Bharat or interests of his employees, Ratan ji’s thoughts and actions were inspiring. His simplicity and humility, even after attaining many heights, will remain worthy of emulation. We pay our humble homage to his memory with heartfelt tribute. We pray the almighty to bestow Sadgati to the departed soul.”
“His continuous cooperation and participation remained in all types of work in the interest of the society. Whether it is about the unity and security of the nation or any aspect of development or the interest of the working employees, Ratan ji remained inspirational with his unique thinking and work. Even after touching many heights, his style of simplicity and humility will remain exemplary,” Dr Bhagwat said.
“We offer our humble salutations to his sacred memories and pay our emotional tribute. We pray that God grants salvation to the departed soul,” Dr Bhagwat added.
Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, was the Chairman of Ratan Tata Trust and Dorabji Tata Trust, two of the largest private-sector-promoted philanthropic trusts in India. He was the Chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, from 1991 until his retirement in 2012. Then he was appointed Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons.
He was honoured with the country’s second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, in 2008.
