The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded an impartial investigation into the controversy surrounding the use of animal fat in the preparation of laddus at the Tirupati temple, a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus. The organisation’s International General Secretary, Bajrang Lal Bagra, has expressed deep distress and hurt on behalf of the Hindu community, condemning the alleged use of beef fat, pig fat and fish oil in the prasad distributed to devotees.

In a video posted on social media, Bagra stated that the reports of beef fat, and pig fat being used in laddus have caused widespread anger and frustration among Hindus. He accused the previous regime of deliberately tampering with the sentiments of Hindus and demanded that those responsible be criminally prosecuted and punished.

The VHP leader also reiterated its long-standing demand that Hindu temples should be managed by the society, rather than being under government control. He argued that government control over temples has led to the entry of politics and the misuse of temple properties. Bagra claimed that many other issues, such as the misuse and encroachment of temple properties, are still unresolved, but the Tirupati incident has further strengthened their belief that government control over temples must be abolished.

The VHP has called for strict action from the Andhra Pradesh government and the Centre to address this matter. Bagra urged that a completely impartial investigation be conducted to uncover the truth behind the alleged use of animal fat in laddus. He emphasized that such disgusting and evil acts must be stopped, and those responsible must be held accountable.

The controversy surrounding the use of beef fat and pig fat in laddus has sparked widespread outrage among Hindus, who consider the Tirupati temple as one of their most sacred pilgrimage sites. The incident has also raised questions about the management of Hindu temples and the role of government officials in these institutions.
