Ayodhya: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Awadhesh Prasad faced strong resistance during a late-night visit to the family of a rape survivor in Ayodhya’s Khandsa area on Saturday. The family of the victim, along with local villagers, refused to meet with the MP, expressing their anger over the timing of his visit and the lack of support in the initial days following the incident.

Prasad’s visit to the village was met with visible outrage from both the victim’s family and the local community. As soon as news spread of the MP’s arrival, a large group of villagers gathered, expressing their displeasure. They criticised the MP for arriving three days after the incident and questioned why he chose to visit under the cover of darkness. Some villagers sarcastically referred to him as the “king of Ayodhya,” questioning why it took him so long to meet with the family.

The victim’s family outright refused to meet with Awadhesh Prasad, reflecting their frustration with the political establishment’s delayed response. The family has reportedly been receiving death threats from the accused’s relatives, further escalating tensions in the area.

Taking to X, Jitendra Pratap Singh questioned the intention of the Samajwadi Party leader to visit the family of the rape victim late in the night. He asked if his intention was to make peace with the family since the culprits involved in the rape of the 12-year-old minor girl were Muslims.

A 12-year-old girl from a labourer’s family was allegedly gang-raped by Samajwadi Party leader Moid Khan and his servant Raju in the Badarsha area of Ayodhya district. The incident, which also involved the making and distribution of an obscene video of the minor, has sparked outrage in the community.

According to reports, the girl was lured to Moid Khan’s shop on the pretext of being offered a snack. The victim, who had previously visited the shop, went there in confidence.

However, she was allegedly gang-raped by Raju and Moid Khan, with the ordeal being recorded. The video was then used to threaten the girl into silence, leading to her being gang-raped for two months.

As a result, the girl became pregnant.

The case came to light when the girl complained of stomach pain to her mother, who then questioned her daughter.

Upon learning the truth, the mother filed a complaint with the police. The incident has led to the arrest of Moid Khan and Raju on charges of gang rape.

The police post, Badarsha, where the incident took place was found to be located on Moid Khan’s property, raising questions about its proximity to the accused. The police have since shifted the post to a different location.

It is important to mention that Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad constituency, Awadhesh Prasad‘s bears close proximity to Moid Khan.
