NEW DELHI: A huge silent protest march took place on the streets of Delhi from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar on August 16, 2024, wherein women belonging to all age groups along with men came out to silently express their anger over the recent violence against the Hindus in Bangladesh. The protest march was organised by Nari Shakti Forum.
Women were seen wearing black cloth strip around their mouth with an aim to express their anger against the atrocities that have been committed against the women and the Hindus in Bangladesh.
Recently, Bangladesh was marred by anti-quota protests which soon turned into anti-Hindu protests. The intensifty of the protests in Bangladesh was of such high magnitude that it ultimately resulted in a coup thereby forcing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to flee from the country and take shelter in Bharat.
One of the woman protesters, Manju Bansal expressed her anguish about the violence that was perpetrated on the Hindus in Bangladesh. While speaking to Organiser, she said, “The day is not far that what is happening with the Hindus in Bangladesh, similar fate is meeted out to the Hindus in Bharat as there is a big conspiracy that is being hatched in Bharat in the name of Jihad. It could be land jihad, or Islamisation of education.”
Bansal minced no words in stating that wherever the Islamists are in large number, they harass the minorities and it is due to this that their is huge decline in Hindu population across the world. Bansal further said that in Bangladesh, there were more than 20 per cent Hindus. However, with the passage of time, their population has dwindled down to around two to three percent.
She slammed the Islamists in Bharat for claiming that they are not safe here. On the contrary, their population in Bharat has increased from 10 per cent to 40 per cent. Bansal urged the Hindus of Bharat to unite and not be divided on the basis of caste. She said,”If anyone asks you what is your caste, just say that I am a Hindu. Say proudly that you are a Hindu.”
It was in unison that the woman protesters said that they will stand with the Hindus in any part of the world if they face any kind of atrocity.
One of the protesting woman while talking to Organiser stated that it is high time that the Hindus unite or they might have to face similar situation as what the Hindus are facing in Bangladesh. On being asked why she feels that the Islamists might attack the Hindus and destoy the temples, she said, “That we would not let that happen. However, the need of the hour is to remain alert as a large number of inflitrators are trying to enter Bharat from across the border. She further said,”Another reason why we have taken to the streets is to tell the world that Hindus are a strong force and we will not let our temples in Bharat be vandalised, nor are the Hindus weak or vulnerable.”
It was not just the women who were part of the protest against the genocide of the Hindus in Bangladesh but men too actively took part and raised their voice. They clearly stated that it was Sanatan Dharma that has taught them to be tolerant and it is a peaceful religion. One of the protesters said, “There are 57 Islamic nations, however, it is Bharat which has given Sheikh Hasina shelter and it is here that she is safe.”
The protesters were very clear in expressing their anger against the Islamists and about their barabaric acts. Suraj, who took part in the protest expressed his anguish over the rising population of the Islamists and urged the Hindus to wake up or else they might face extinction. Suraj highlighted the menatlity of the Islamists and claimed that today, if in Bharat they would have been 100 crores and the Hindus were less in their comparison, then they would have made their survival difficult and would have turned Bharat it into an Islamic country.
In wake of the brutal attack on women, Hindus and their property, another protester said, “Hindus should not forget the past atrocities that have been committed on them. They should not forget what happened with them in 2002 in Godhra or what happendd with the Kashmiri Hindus.” The protesters have asked the people and Hindus at large to unite and save themselves.
Meanwhile, BJP leader and member of parliament Basuri Swaraj too took part in the protest and she stated that the prevailing situation in Bangladesh is worrisome and the biggest victim of this violence in Bangladesh are the Hindus. She added that through this protest march, we would like to tell the world that Hindus believe in peace and during this difficult time, the Hindus of Bharat are standing in unison with them.
