On July 31 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu man named Dilip was brutally attacked after confronting Mohammed Nadeem, who was caught urinating on temple walls. Nadeem and other miscreants, angered by Dilip’s objection, verbally abused him before breaking into his home. The attackers used iron rods and bamboo sticks, causing severe injuries. The incident highlights escalating tensions and violence in the area.
According to reports, the police have taken notice of the incident and arrested three individuals involved.
Victim Dilip Singh confirmed that Mohammed Nadeem was seen urinating on the temple walls around 3 pm on July 31. When Dilip confronted him, Nadeem responded with abuse and assault. Some locals attempted to mediate the situation, after which Dilip returned home. Later, Nadeem, Saleem, Nafees, Babu (son of Saleem), and three other associates forcibly entered Dilip’s home and launched a brutal assault. They used iron rods and bamboo sticks, leaving Dilip with severe injuries. When the neighbours learned about the incident, they quickly arrived at the scene and found Dilip covered in blood. They rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
By the time the neighbours arrived, the accused had already fled the scene. However, based on Dilip’s complaint, the police filed an FIR and arrested three individuals.
This incident follows a similar case from December 13, when the Dehradun police apprehended Mohd Saddam, a Muslim resident of Mehunwala, for desecrating the Kali Temple in Harrawala. Captured on CCTV, Saddam was seen urinating outside the temple and throwing stones, which damaged its glass windows. Such acts of desecration continue to provoke strong reactions and highlight ongoing tensions within the community.
