Highlighting the state’s urgent need for a capital, Sitharaman revealed plans to facilitate special financial support through multilateral development agencies. “In the current financial year, Rs 15,000 crore will be arranged, with additional amounts in future years,” she stated, emphasizing the government’s dedication to supporting the state’s development needs in her speech.

Key industrial nodes, including the Kopparthy node on the Vishakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor and the Orvakal node on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, will receive significant support. An additional allocation towards capital investment for economic growth is also planned for this year.

Moreover, grants for the backward regions of Rayalaseema, Prakasam, and North Coastal Andhra, as outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, will be provided to spur development in these areas.

This comprehensive financial package is expected to drive substantial economic growth and development in Andhra Pradesh, addressing long-standing infrastructural challenges and promoting balanced regional growth.

Reacting to this, Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resources Development of Andhra Pradesh, expressed his gratitude to the NDA government. In his tweet, he stated, “We extend our gratitude to the Central Government for announcing complete support for the completion of the Andhra Pradesh capital, Amaravati, and the lifeline Polavaram Project.
