NEW DELHI: On the occasion of the 118th birth anniversary of the founder of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Lakshmi Bai Kelkar ji (Mausi ji), Medhavini Sindhu Srijan, Delhi Prant , Sharanya and Satyawati College jointly organised ‘Sankalp Diwas’ on July 16, 2024 in Satyawati College, University of Delhi, Ashok Vihar, New Delhi. The topic for the day was “Vartman pariprekshya mein nari ki asmitamoolak avdhaarna .”
The occasion was graced by New Delhi Constituency Member of Parliament, Adv. Bansuri Swaraj ji, as the Chief Guest, who defined women as ‘Shakti’ without whose invocation victory is not possible . She called upon the women power of the nation to educated themselves , skill themselves and financially empower themselves so that they can empower the nation.
The Key Speaker, Smt. Leena Gahane Ji , Akhil Bhartiya Sah Bauddhik Pramukh , emphasised on the importance of choosing the right role models like Jijabai , Ahilyabai Holkar and Mausiji etc who were epitome of woman power and encouraged women to participate in nation building and take inspiration from the lives of these civilisational icons.
Special Guest for the day Prof. Rajni Abbi ji, Proctor, University of Delhi talked about how women can make their sons and husbands more responsible and that the nation cannot be free in the real sense unless the system is entirely ‘Indian‘ in essence .
Geeta Bhatt , Director , NCWEB , who presided over the event, reiterated the idea that though men and women are different , they together make up the energy of the cosmos, hence women are equally capable and responsible for the empowerment of the society .
Prof. Anju Seth , Principal , Satyawati college in her welcome note , called upon the audience to take inspiration from the lives of exemplary women like Lakshmibai Kelkar ji and Ahilyabai Holkar ji.
Principals and teachers from different colleges as well as individuals, largely women from diverse fields attended the program .
