The names of the people in custody are Simul Hussain (28), Ibrahim Sardar (24), Selina Bibi (20), Samim Reja (9), and Md. Safiqul Islam (32). Police and BSF officials are currently questioning them in an initial capacity. This episode is reminiscent of an operation that was carried out on June 30, 2024, at Agartala Railway Station, which resulted in the arrest of 11 Bangladeshi nationals, six of them were women with children. They were trying to enter India illegally with the intention of going to Kashmir and Bengaluru.

On the other hand, five Rohingya intruders from Bangladesh were taken into custody at the Agartala Railway Station on July 9, 2024. The Rohingya nationals came from Bangladesh into India without authorization. They were planning to travel to the national capital Delhi using forged Indian documents. There is a specific case that has been filed against them and investigations are on to bust the entire racket.
