The Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly condemned Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in the Lok Sabha, where he suggested that Hindus are inclined towards violence. The comments have sparked widespread outrage among BJP members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and have been described as provocative and potentially inciting civil unrest.
During a parliamentary session, Rahul Gandhi displayed an image of Lord Shiva, using it to symbolize the opposition’s resilience during challenging times. He remarked, “The snake around Shiva’s neck teaches that one should never be afraid… I am happy and proud to be in the opposition because, for us, there is more than power, there is truth. It is not a symbol of violence; it is a symbol of non-violence, which is why it is positioned where Shiva cannot easily reach it with his right hand. Those who call themselves Hindu, 24×7 they do violence, violence, violence and hate, hate, hate. You are not a Hindu. Hinduism clearly states to stand by the truth.” Gandhi also linked the Congress party’s election symbol to the abhay mudra of Hinduism, representing truth, fearlessness, and non-violence.
His statements have elicited strong reactions from Hindus and political leaders nationwide. TN BJP chief K Annamalai took to social media platform X, condemning Gandhi’s remarks. “The leader of the opposition, Thiru @RahulGandhi, made disparaging remarks about Hindus in the Parliament today. He called Hindus violent. On this very day, two members of the Hizb-ut-Tahir, an international pan-Islamist and fundamentalist organization that is working to re-establish an Islamic caliphate, were arrested in Tamil Nadu today by the NIA. This organization was involved in radicalizing many innocent youths in TN to their extremist ideologies. Neither would the DMK be bothered, nor would Congress condemn this organization. For them, the vote bank takes precedence over national security!”

Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesperson ANS Prasad has critiqued Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent speech in Parliament, describing it as an expression of frustration and desperation. Prasad’s comments came in response to Gandhi’s address during the debate on the President’s speech, where he launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government’s policies.
“Today, Rahul Gandhi delivered a speech in Parliament that was marked by harsh criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government’s schemes and policies,” Prasad stated. “However, it seemed more like an expression of frustration and desperation from a leader struggling to come to terms with his party’s dwindling fortunes.”
Prasad highlighted that Gandhi accused the BJP government of perpetuating lies and deceiving the nation. Gandhi targeted various schemes and policies, calling them superficial and lacking substance. He also questioned the Prime Minister’s credibility and intentions. Despite these strong allegations, Prasad noted that Gandhi’s speech lacked concrete data and substance to support his claims.
“It seemed more like an emotional outburst from a leader who has failed to make an impact in the political landscape,” Prasad said. “The defeat of the Congress party in consecutive elections has clearly affected Gandhi mentally, and his speech today was a reflection of that frustration.”
According to Prasad, Gandhi’s attempt to appear confident and assertive fell flat, as his speech came across as weak and lacking in conviction. Prasad also criticised Gandhi for failing to provide viable alternatives to the BJP’s policies and schemes, exposing what he described as a lack of vision and leadership.
“In conclusion, Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Parliament today was a desperate attempt to stay relevant in a political landscape that is increasingly moving away from him,” Prasad asserted. “His frustration and desperation were palpable, and his speech only served to reinforce the perception that he is a leader in decline.”
