Imphal: In response to the swirling rumours about his resignation, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has firmly denied any plans to step down. Addressing the media, he emphasised the importance of leadership and stability during the state’s current troubled times.

“In such a crucial time when Manipur is passing through a troubled time, we as leaders should not waver,” said CM N Biren Singh. “We have full confidence and we have to guide the people on the right path. If we deviate from the path, who will lead them? Manipur will be in more chaos. So, I appeal to all media persons, don’t publish any unconfirmed news and information.”

The Chief Minister’s statement comes in the wake of widespread speculation and unverified reports suggesting his imminent resignation. He cautioned against the dangers of misinformation, highlighting that such rumours could incite unnecessary panic among the populace.

“When someone says that the CM is going to step down, people start panicking,” he noted. “So, I think we should not spread such misinformation.”

CM Singh’s firm dismissal of the resignation rumours underscores his commitment to guiding Manipur through its current challenges. He urged media outlets to be responsible in their reporting, ensuring that only verified information is disseminated to the public.
