In a surprising revelation, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari has made serious claims about how votes were counted in Coochbehar. Adhikari says the BJP lost in 164 voting stations during the 19th and 20th rounds of counting, even though they were ahead in 1700 stations at first. Initially, Nisith Pramanik, the BJP candidate, was reportedly ahead by 60,000 votes across 1700 voting stations. But things quickly turned around in the 19th and 20th rounds of counting, with the BJP supposedly losing in 164 stations.
LoP Suvendu Adhikari alleges BJP in Coochbehar was defeated in 164 booths in the 19th & 20th round of counting before which Nisith Pramanik was leading with 60K votes in 1700 booths. He adds that in 19th & 20th round number of many EVMs didn't match with d EVM number as mentioned pic.twitter.com/mt1zIw8pX9

According to him, the numbers displayed on some EVMs didn’t match what was officially recorded, raising doubts about how the counting was done. These claims have sparked a heated debate among politicians, with the BJP demanding a thorough investigation.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) hasn’t yet made an official statement on these claims. However, the controversy has led to calls for more transparency and honesty in the election process, especially given the closely contested elections in West Bengal.
West Bengal experienced significant violence marked by clashes between political groups, resulting in widespread disruption and casualties. The incidents underscored challenges in maintaining peace and stability during politically charged times. Supporters of TMC Government candidates were involved in disruptive activities during the elections, exacerbating tensions and raising concerns about law enforcement and public safety in the region.
