Congress Treachery Exposed: Former Army Chief reveals how Sonia Gandhi planned to give Siachen Glacier to Pakistan

One of Indian Army’s most prominent and highly experienced officer General JJ Singh has disclosed how the Congress-UPA government and its chief Sonia Gandhi in 2006 covertly planned to hand over the strategic Siachen Glacier to Pakistan, India’s archenemy without involving the armed forces and national intelligence apparatus, a move which undermined the sacrifices and blood of the Indian forces who toil day and night to secure this frontier area

Former Army Chief General J.J Singh has put the Congress UPA government in the dock by making sensational revelations regarding the Siachen Glacier to Pakistan. In his statement, General Singh directly targeted the Congress government and talked about handing over Siachen Glacier to Pakistan without taking the Indian Army into confidence.

According to General Singh, in the year 2006, the then central government was talking to Pakistan against this matter without taking the Indian Army and the Indian intelligence into confidence. The disclosure by the former Army Chief also becomes important because the former Foreign Secretary has also admitted that both countries were working on the proposal of withdrawing the army from Siachen with mutual consent in the year 2006.

General JJ Singh said, “Questions are being raised on the then government because even after losing their lives on the inaccessible peaks of Siachen, the Army never asked the government to step back. In such a situation the government’s action on this proposal was surprising to everyone. Pakistan is facing more problems than India in Siachen because the preparation of Indian troops in high altitude warfare and terrain than the neighbouring countries.

General Singh also said that the Indian government had considered this proposal before going ahead and didn’t even talk to him, during this, the former Army Chief said that the Congress has tried to insult the martyrdom of soldiers who lost their lives while protecting the snowy slopes of Siachen.

General JJ Singh said, “Soldiers lose their lives in securing every inch of the country’s border. But it is regrettable that the Congress government has forgotten this and is ready to gift this piece of Indian land to Pakistan in form of Siachen. He also said that the Congress government has felt so that by withdrawing the Army from here, peace and tranquility will be restored between the two countries, then nothing can be more foolish than this.

Such a disastrous move reflects how the Congress government was undermining the valour and sacrifices of the Indian soldiers (valour of 890 soldiers including officers) achieving martyrdom during Operation Meghdoot in 1984 to save this strategic piece of land.
