NIA issues calrification after Congress stooges spread fake news against BJP worker and sole eyewitness in Rameshwarm blast case
Amidst the ongoing investigation into the Rameshwaram Cafe blast, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has clarified that Sai Prasad, a BJP worker, is merely a witness and not a suspect, contrary to claims made by some Congress social media warriors and media houses. The NIA’s statement comes as a response to misleading information circulated on social media platforms.
According to sources close to the investigation, Prasad operates a small shop specialising in second-hand mobile phones and also works part-time as a painter. It is speculated that the perpetrator of the blast may have acquired a mobile phone or SIM card from Prasad’s shop. Alternatively, Prasad may have been involved in painting the residence where the suspect resided.
The NIA had stated that it has been summoning and examining acquaintances, including friends from college and school, of both absconding and arrested accused individuals to gather evidence and information.
Last week, the NIA conducted raids on the houses of two suspects — Abdul Matheen Taahaa and Mussavir Hussain — in Shivamogga, as well as a mobile store. These raids were carried out subsequent to the arrest and interrogation of Muzammil Shareef, another key suspect, on March 28.
During the raids, it was discovered that the phone used by Muzamil to contact Mussavir and Taahaa originally belonged to a local BJP worker named Sai Prasad.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Sai Prasad had sold his old phone to a mobile shop owner, who then sold it to Muzammil.
In light of these developments, the NIA has issued a stern condemnation of the dissemination of false information pertaining to the ongoing investigation. The agency emphasised the importance of refraining from spreading baseless rumors that could hinder the progress of the probe.
Furthermore, there have been calls for action against those responsible for spreading misinformation. Critics have labelled the Congress Social Media Warriors as opportunistic individuals seeking to obstruct the investigation for their own political gain. Suggestions have been made to arrest these individuals for their alleged role in disseminating false information.
In addition, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organisation has expressed its intent to pursue legal action against those who have falsely implicated their name in the controversy without sufficient evidence. The RSS, a Hindu nationalist organisation, has voiced concerns over attempts to tarnish their reputation through unfounded allegations.
As the investigation into the Rameshwaram Cafe blast continues, authorities remain vigilant against attempts to manipulate public opinion through the dissemination of false information. The NIA has reiterated its commitment to uncovering the truth behind the incident and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
