In a tragic incident reported from the East Champaran district of Bihar, a husband brutally murdered his wife and three children by slitting their throats. The gruesome incident occurred in the Bavaria village within the jurisdiction of the Phatapur police station. It is reported that Idhu Miyan, the accused, carried out the heinous act on March 28 while his wife and children were asleep. After committing the murders, he fled from the scene.

The victims of this horrific crime include Idhu’s wife, Afreena Khatoon (40), along with their children, Abrun Khatoon (13), Tabrun Khatoon (11), and Shahzadi Khatoon (9). They were mercilessly killed by having their throats slit. The motive behind this brutal act has not yet been revealed. Afreena Khatoon was the second wife of the accused, whose first wife had already passed away. Idhu Miyan has two sons from his first marriage, who are currently employed elsewhere.

Idhu Miyan has a history of violence, as he had previously thrown one of his five daughters from a moving train in Uttar Pradesh, resulting in her death. He had served time in jail in connection with this incident and had returned home a few months ago after being released. Afreena Khatoon’s maternal home is located in the Jhakhra village of the West Champaran district.

Following the incident, Areraj DSP Ranjan Kumar, along with multiple police teams from different stations and the SWAT team, have initiated an investigation into the matter.

According to local villagers, a dispute between Idhu and his wife arose late on Thursday night, leading to the tragic outcome where he killed his wife and three children while they were asleep before fleeing. The shocking and simultaneous killing of four individuals has instilled shock and fear in the area. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination, and DSP Ranjan Kumar stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the accused husband as part of the ongoing investigation.
