In a praiseworthy development, youths hailing from remote regions of Sukma district infested by insurgency arrived on a tour in the State capital Raipur on Wednesday, February 28. Several youths hailing from Maoist-affected villages such as Puverti, Tekalguda, Silger, and others arrived and toured the surroundings of the State capital for the first time.
The delegation of the tribal (Jnajati) youths also paid a visit to the Chhattisgarh State Assembly and witnessed the proceedings of the house, the villagers during the day also visited the Chhattisgarh Science centre, airport, DKS hospital, and Ambuja Mall, along with paying a visit to the Pukthauni Muktangan, a premise featuring the unique identity and age old culture of the Janjatiye community.
Further, the Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister (CM), Vishnu Deo Sai also interacted with the youths and educated them about the Niyad Nellanaar, a flagship scheme launched by the government to provide the benefits of separate government schemes to the residents of remote villages infested by left wing insurgency.
Earlier, the deputy Chief Minister of the State, Vijay Sharma met with the delegation in the morning and had breakfast with them. Interacting with the media during the session the Dy CM, Sharma asserted that these people are the “Janata Janardan” who have arrived to see that whether the government is doing well or not.
Further, while expressing his delight over the visit of the youths, Sharma said in a tweet that “those who have never reached Jagdalpur (a city in the South Bastar region, a hotbed of insurgency over decades) have visited the State assembly under the Vishnu Deo Sai government. The villagers have also interacted with the ministers and met with the former CM, Raman Singh.

Interacting with the media, the villagers, while expressing their joy over the visit, disclosed that they were elated after witnessing glimpses of their culture and traditions in the State’s capital. It has been further reported that the delegation will pay a visit to the culturally enriched town of Rajim on February 29.
It is worth mentioning here that the State’s CM, Vishnu Deo Sai after assuming the office, has time and again indicated that his government would focus on the inclusion of the residents of the Maoist affected areas into the mainstream while ensuring full-fledged development of the regions earlier deprived of basic facilities.
Earlier, the government, in a significant move, also announced the flagship Niyad Nellanaar (Apka Achha Gaon Yojna) scheme aimed at providing basic facilities and benefits of government schemes to the people residing in the core Maoist zone of the State on February 15.
Announcing the scheme, CM Sai while briefing the media, remarked, “that the people residing in the Naxal- affected regions are deprived of basic facilities, and even the government schemes fail to make their way there, Keeping this in mind, the Chhattisgarh government has announced the Niyad Naellanaar Yojna.

The CM further informed the residents that a number of security camps are being established in these areas, and the goal of this scheme is to cover as many villages as possible in the 5-kilometre radius of a security camp and provide facilities pertaining to government schemes to the residents.
Furthermore, Sai had asserted that the facilities provided by the government were earlier not reaching the citizens, but now the scheme is launched and special attention will be paid. All the facilities provided by the government, including free rations and schemes such as PM Aawas Yojna, Ujjawala schemes, should reach the residents of these regions.
The CM had also hinted that his government intends to establish primary schools, community and health centres, Aanganbadi centers, play grounds, helipads, bank and ATMs, mobile tower alongside providing free electricity in these areas under the Niyad Nellanaar scheme.
