Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently engaged in a two-day itinerary in Tamil Nadu, extended a call to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to become integral parts of the global supply chain. The Prime Minister, after participating in the concluding event of Annamalai’s “En Maan En Makkal” yatra in Palladam near Coimbatore, proceeded to Madurai for further engagements.

In Madurai, PM Modi graced a significant event where he offered prayers at the revered Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple. Adorning traditional attire—a dhoti and shirt—the Prime Minister visited the shrine in the evening, participating in the sacred rituals. Upon his arrival, temple priests accorded him Purna Kumbham honors, symbolizing the highest respect in temple traditions.

During his visit, PM Modi stressed the importance of MSMEs integrating into the global supply chain, highlighting the plethora of opportunities available. The emphasis on economic engagement aligns with the government’s vision of fostering growth and resilience in the MSME sector.

In a series of events, PM Modi addressed the ‘Creating the Future – Digital Mobility for Automotive MSME Entrepreneurs’ gathering in Madurai, highlighting the pivotal role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the global supply chain.

During his address, PM Modi interacted with Gandhigram-trained women entrepreneurs and schoolchildren, emphasizing the importance of technology and innovation in shaping India’s future. He applauded Tamil Nadu’s achievements in the automotive sector, recognizing its significant contributions on the global stage.

The theme of the event, ‘Creating the Future – Digital Mobility for Automotive MSME Entrepreneurs,’ resonated with the Prime Minister, who commended TVS company for bringing together MSMEs and aspirational youth on a single platform. PM Modi expressed confidence in the development of Viksit Bharat alongside the automobile industry, emphasizing that 7 percent of the country’s GDP stems from the automotive sector, underscoring its significance to India’s autonomy.

Acknowledging the crucial role of MSMEs in manufacturing automotive parts, PM Modi noted that India produces millions of cars, two-wheelers, commercial vehicles, and three-wheelers annually. He emphasized the role of Indian MSMEs in manufacturing automotive components, highlighting their presence in various cities across the country and their contributions to the global market.

PM Modi emphasized the global opportunities available to Indian MSMEs, stressing the importance of quality, durability, and environmental sustainability. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting MSMEs, citing initiatives such as PM Mudra Yojana and PM Vishwakarma Yojana, which have provided crucial financial assistance and job security during the pandemic.

The Prime Minister underscored the government’s focus on skill development, announcing the establishment of advanced skill universities to meet the evolving needs of India’s workforce. He highlighted the government’s efforts to facilitate low-cost loans and working capital for MSMEs, ensuring their continued growth and expansion.

During his visit to Palladam, in the Kongu region of Tamil Nadu, PM Modi was greeted with warmth and affection by the local community. He was presented with a garland of turmeric weighing 67 kilograms, symbolising their respect and admiration. Additionally, the Thoda tribal community presented him with a handmade shawl from Nilgiris, expressing gratitude for his support of women Self-Help Groups (SHGs). PM Modi was also honoured with a replica of a Jallikattu Bull, symbolising the revival of the ancient traditional sport in Tamil Nadu.

As PM Modi continues his engagements in Tamil Nadu, his focus on MSMEs, automotive entrepreneurs, and grassroots communities underscores his commitment to inclusive growth and economic development in the region.
