January 22, 2024 will put an end to a wait of almost five long centuries that saw the likes of Marxists & Medievalists pitted in a civilisational battle against the Sanatan soul of Bharat. The spirit of Bharat was left bloodied but unbowed when the iconoclast Invader Mir Baqi demolished the abode of Maryada Purushottam Bhagwan Sri Ram and yet that spirit survived countless invasions & insults; big & small but was always sustained by the immense spiritual devotion of the faithful. As Bhagwan Ram steps into his new home the ancient land of Bharat will shine brighter than a thousand suns with its radiance illuminating the world in line with our civilisational ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Yet in this brightness there remains a festering dark spot which happens to be the state of West Bengal.
Minority appeasement & vote bank politics is a long festering disease that has mutated into a hydra-headed monster afflicting West Bengal. The polity is completely communalised in favour of the the close to 30 per cent Muslim electorate wherein playing to the gallery entails Bhagwan Ram being portrayed as an rank outsider with no organic connection to the Bengali Hindu community by the Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee. Ram Navami processions have been the targets of state sponsored extremism with the local police looking the other way while Ram Bhakts are stone pelted in certain ‘sensitive’ localities. Organisers have been repeatedly forced by the civil administration to change the pre-decided routes of these processions so as to not pass through ostensibly ‘sensitive’ areas. The chief minister seems to perpetually loose her delicate mental balance whenever the faithful invoke the name of their Bhagwan. “Jai Shri Ram” is enough to land anyone in police custody if it is uttered within the earshot of the chief minister who has time & again vowed to skin alive any individual who would dare commit such a sacrilegious act. The Islamic emirate of Afghanistan & The Islamic republic of Pakistan could possibly be more tolerant in this regard.
The long & illustrious history of Bengal is closely intertwined with Bhagwan Ram. A cursory glance across the length & breadth of West Bengal will throw up names like Rampurhat, Srirampore, Ramrajatala and Ramjibanpur. Readers would be interested to note that Bengals greatest festival the Durga Puja used to be celebrated during the month of Chaitra during the Satya Yug. This changed in the Treta Yug when Bhagwan Ram performed ‘অকালবোধন’ Akaal Bodhan right before waging a just war. Akaal Bodhan was the untimely invocation of Maa Durga by Bhagwan Ram to win the war against Ravana invoked in the month of Ashwin which since then onwards has been the traditional season of the Durga Puja. Maa Durga with her immense divinity blessed Bhagwan Ram abundantly to wage war against the forces of evil with grit and grace. Bengal is the land of Shakti or divine feminine energy; the fierce manifestation of Maa Durga is Maa Kali and is worshipped with equal fervour. Raja Dashrath, Bhagwan Ram’s father worshipped Maa Kali with much vigour & devotion. From the Treta Yug to the Kali Yug Shri Shri Ram Krishna Paramhansa one of the greatest saints to have walked the sacred land of West Bengal worshipped Raghuvir a manifestation of Bhagwan Ram as his Kuldevta. Bhagwan Ram is as organic to Bengal as any of the other central tenets of the Bengali identity like our language & culture.
As Bharat shines bright a coterie of left liberals along with fifth columnists are sulking in the dark finding newer ways of derailing the newfound spirit of unity amongst people of all sects, castes and creed because Bhagwan Ram is a unifying figure belonging to all. Many states have declared a public holiday to let each & every individual to celebrate the homecoming of Bhagwan Ram, predictably West Bengal is not among them. The chief minister of West Bengal will be holding a rally on the January 22, wherein she will delve into her pet themes of Hindu hate & minority appeasement in the garb of solidarity and harmony. The Congress and it’s ecosystem which includes the Trinamool congress has perfected the art of denying the existence & identity of BhagwanRam. Their hate for the Bhagwan boils down to the fact that the Ram Janmabhoomi movement was spearheaded by many organisations among them was their political rival Bharatiya Janata Party. The Congress has in this process let down its stalwarts from the likes of TV Narashimha Rao to Rajiv Gandhi to Baba Raghav Das who all made small yet significant contributions in reclaiming Ram Janmabhoomi. For those who are out of sync with the pulse of Bharat, one can only recall the words of the Mahatma “Raghupati raghav raja Ram, sabko sanmati de Bhagwan”
