In an escalating trend of atrocities against Hindu minor girls in Gujarat, another distressing incident has come to light in Palanpur. A 15-year-old Hindu girl fell victim to a heinous crime when she was abducted and raped by Mehndi Hussain, a perpetrator who operates a driving business.

The harrowing incident unfolded on December 4, 2023, when Mehndi Hussain coerced the minor into his car under the pretext of providing her with new clothes. Subsequently, he embarked on a three-day ordeal, traversing different cities, including Ahmedabad, Morbi, and Junagadh, where he subjected the young girl to multiple instances of sexual assault.

The victim, a resident of Garh Panthak in Palanpur, hails from an economically disadvantaged family. Earning her livelihood by working in a catering service, she encountered the accused Mehndi Hussain Jamusha Fakir during her employment. Exploiting the vulnerable circumstances of the girl, Mehndi Hussain seized the opportunity on December 4, 2023, to abduct her in his car.

The victim’s mother, upon learning of the horrifying incident, promptly filed a police complaint. Law enforcement authorities have taken swift action, registering charges under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

After three days of torment, Mehndi Hussain dropped the girl near her residence on December 7, before evading authorities. The police are actively pursuing the absconding accused to ensure justice is served in this deeply distressing case.

Upon learning about the incident, the mother of the underage girl filed a complaint against the accused at the Garh police station. The police informed the media that the Hindu minor girl is 15 years, 11 months, and 26 days old. A case has been registered under sections 363, 366, 376(3), 376(2)(L) of the IPC and POCSO based on the mother’s complaint. The accused is currently evading arrest but is expected to be apprehended soon. The CPI Deesa is conducting further investigations into the case.
