Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Congress ecosystem on December 5 for promoting a divisive ‘North Vs. South’s agenda following the BJP’s victory in elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.

In response to a video by journalist Shiv Aroor, PM Modi warned against the Congress’s divisive agenda and commented, “They may revel in their arrogance, lies, pessimism, and ignorance, but they should be wary of their divisive tactics.”

Mocking the Congress party’s long-standing habits, PM Modi remarked, “A habit of 70 years doesn’t fade easily,” and added, “The people’s wisdom dictates that they should brace themselves for more such meltdowns in the future.”

May they be happy with their arrogance, lies, pessimism and ignorance. But..

⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ Beware of their divisive agenda. An old habit of 70 years can’t go away so easily. ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️

Also, such is the wisdom of the people that they have to be prepared for many more meltdowns… https://t.co/N3jc3eSgMB

On December 4, journalist Shiv Aroor shared a 4-minute video documenting tweets from the Congress ecosystem targeting North Indians. He highlighted the dehumanising language used by Congress-friendly political commentators to refer to voters in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

Shiv Aroor highlighted how the anti-Modi brigade has been demonising the electorate instead of revisiting their political strategy and furthering the divide in society.

Significantly, there have been allegations suggesting that the Congress party has compensated journalists for disseminating propaganda against the BJP during elections. On the social media platform X, a self-proclaimed social activist named Rohit Live presented a comprehensive thread with supporting evidence. Within this thread, he identified ten journalists and YouTubers engaged in propagating anti-BJP narratives.

Thread on Youtubers 🧵

How “Congress Paid” Journalists tried to peddle propaganda against the BJP during elections and how they tried to mislead people..

— Rohit_Live (@Rohit_Live007) December 4, 2023

These individuals include Pragya Mishra (with 1 million followers on X), Ashutosh (with 2.4 million followers on X), Abhisar Sharma (with 1.8 million followers on X), Punya Prasun Bajpai (with 2.6 million followers on X), Rajeev Ranjan Srivastava (with 4971 followers on X), Arfa Khanum Sherwani (with 1.2 million followers on X), Ajit Anjum (with 1.7 million followers on X), Sanjay Sharma (with 46.2 thousand followers on X), Deepak Sharma (with 107.9 thousand followers on X), and Sakshi Joshi (with 1.3 million followers on X).

Remarkably, among the mentioned YouTubers, seven rank higher than mainstream media channels in terms of views and receive compensation in dollars.

It is noteworthy that these YouTubers not only directed their criticism towards the BJP before the elections but also targeted voters for their choices in the Hindi heartland post-election results. Comments such as ‘Gaumutra states’ and labelling voters as ‘illiterate people’ manipulated by the saffron party were observed.
