Now that the elections are around the corner, it seems that all the political parties and their supporters are leaving no stone unturned to win the polls. In a recent incident, an unidentified man stabbed BRS MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy

Meanwhile, the mob beat the attacker and handed him over to the police. The attacker was identified as Raju, a resident of nearby Cheppyala village. He was currently employed by a YouTube channel, having previously worked as a reporter for a local news app.

According to police, a man known as Dattani Raju was detained on suspicion of stabbing BRS MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy.  Police were investigating the case to ascertain further details.

Tamilisai Soundararajan, the state governor, expressed shock at the attack on the Medak MP that happened during an election campaign.

In her tweet on X, she said, “I was shocked to learn about the attack on Medak MP and BRS Dubbak MLA candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy during an election campaign in Surampalli of Doulthabad mandal. Violence has no place in democracy, and such incidents are a threat to the democratic process.”

She directed the Director General of Police to take stringent measures to investigate and ensure the safety of contesting candidates and campaigners during the election period.

She added that “It is essential to maintain a peaceful and secure environment for free and fair elections.”

Speaking at a public gathering in Banswada, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao noted that Telangana had not seen such violent politics in the previous ten years and that Prabhakar Reddy’s attack would be perceived as a personal attack on him. He questioned the morality of such acts in the political field and denounced such violent acts.

Chief Spokesperson of BJP Telangana, K.Krishna Sagar Rao, condemned the attack on Prabhakar Reddy and said there is no place for violence in democracy.

Reacting to this attack, IT Minister KTR pointed fingers at Congress and on X “I strongly condemn the murder attempt on BRS MP Sri Prabhakar Reddy Garu by Congress Goons. Desperate Congress is now resorting to physical elimination attempts of our leaders in Telangana. This was of course to be expected with a 3rd rate Criminal being made the TPCC president. Violence has no place in democratic society and I hope the Election Commission of India will take serious action in this regard

In another incident, BRS cadre attacked Peddi Naveen, a karyakarta of BJP,  in Siddipet. Now, he is undergoing treatment at Siddipet Hospital.

In Telangana, neither an MP from the ruling party nor a worker from an opposition party is safe.

The only people who are safe are the children and grandchildren of CM KCR.

These incidents illustrate the state’s lack of control over law and order. Unlike two previous elections held in 2014 and 2019, this time KCR is having a tough time on ground due to various factors. The Congress and BJP are putting all their efforts to stop KCR to form the next government. Telangana elections are scheduled to be held on November 30.
