Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, delivered a message of hope and opportunity to India’s youth at the 6th Annual Technology Conference – Infinity 2023, held in Noida.

During his address, Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar emphasised the vision set forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which seeks to create numerous opportunities for the nation’s youth. He encouraged young Indians to acquire skills that align with India’s future in the technology and startup sectors, marking this decade as the “India Decade.”

Chandrasekhar said, “By sending a very clear message to our youth, we are encouraging them to pursue education and acquire the necessary skills because they are the ones who will lead the country into the future”.

“This is the vision of India that Prime Minister Modi has presented to the nation. This year, in the decade that PM Modi has designated as the “India Decade,” there are a tonne of startup opportunities for India, and a tonne of opportunities are being generated through technology to inspire students. Students should inquire for any ski information”, added Chandrasekhar.

He stressed the immense potential for growth and opportunities in the field of startups and called on students to seek knowledge and skills that will enable them to contribute to this growing sector. Minister Chandrasekhar’s speech aimed to motivate and inspire the youth to participate actively in shaping India’s digital future.

Addressing the issue of cybercrime, he acknowledged that the internet has become an integral part of the daily lives of Indians, serving various purposes, including subsidies, pensions, and employment. “By 2056-2026, 125 crore Indians will be online, up from the current 83 crore. In our nation, people use the internet for work, pensions, and subsidies. We are also digital citizens, so maintaining that safety and trust is a top concern for us”, said Chandrasekhar.

“Because cybercrime, misinformation, and c scams have all arrived in our country, as the internet has grown, we will not permit such websites to operate here and will instead block them”, Chandrasekhar added.

With the number of internet users in India set to grow significantly, he expressed the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and trustworthy digital environment. Cybersecurity and the trustworthiness of digital citizens are paramount, and the government is resolved to address challenges such as cybercrime and misinformation. Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar affirmed that the Government would not tolerate websites engaged in illegal activities, and measures would be taken to block and prevent their operation within the country.

He reassured the public of the Government’s dedication to a secure and trustworthy digital India as the nation continues to embrace the digital age.
