Yet another case of a fake identity trap has come to light in Jharkhand. The arrested accused used to work like a syndicate, where he targeted Hindu women for conversion and later sold them off to multiple states. The accused is already married and he did this not just to make money but also to convert Hindus to Islam.

Notably, the Giridih Police arrested Saddam Hussain, who exploited women by luring them into fake love on social media with fake accounts. During the arrest, Saddam was taking a woman in a train to Kolkata against her will. The victim has been freed safely with the help of the police.

The police nabbed the accused on September 10, 2023 and is being interrogated. The police informed that this is not the first woman who was trapped and converted by Saddam, there are many victims. He used to trap women, get them converted, and later sell them to different cities in the country.

According to media reports, Saddam is a resident of Badidih, in the Gaona police station area of Girdih. A victim from the Nimiaghat area lodged a complaint at the cyber police station of Giridih on September 9, 2023 (Saturday). In the complaint, the victim had said that Saddam Hussain, who is married and has children, describes himself as a bachelor on social media. He creates fake profiles and tries to trap girls into his clutches. The victim described herself as a victim of in this fake trap. She says she was influenced by Saddam’s words on social media. Saddam had called the victim to meet him at the hotel and she believed him and came.

It is alleged that here Saddam first forcibly applied vermillion on the victim’s forehead. Later he raped the woman and during this time he clicked objectionable photos and videos. Saddam started blackmailing the woman with the help of these pictures. After a few days, he started insisting on taking the victim with him to Kolkata.

When the woman protested, not only her objectionable photos and videos went viral but she was also threatened with destroying her entire family. According to the woman, Saddam’s threats also included raping other women of the victim’s family.

Fed up with Saddam’s threats and being forced to go to Kolkata, the victim lodged a complaint at the cyber police station in Giridih. The matter was also reported to Girdih Superintendent of Police Deepak Sharma. The police swung in action and started searching for the woman. Ultimately, he was recovered safely near Parasnath Railway Station. Saddam, who was with the victim, was arrested.

It is noteworthy that, Saddam has a long criminal history, which came to light during police interrogation. He has made many girls his victims before. It is being claimed that the accused first forced the girls to convert and later sold them in different cities.

According to the information obtained, Saddam Hussain has performed such marriages with numerous victims before. Beyond disturbing the communal harmony, complaints under the POCSO Act have already been filed against him. He has served time in prison before. In spite of this, he continued to commit crimes.

Superintendent of Police Girdih Deepak Kumar Sharma has advised women who have been harassed in any form by Saddam or anyone like him to contact the police and tell them their problems. He also appealed to be cautious while using social media.
