A total of 10 families who were once lure into changing their religion and converted by illegal means have been reverted to Sanatan in a Ghar Wapsi ceremony held in Goriya of Kankuri in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh on Monday August 14, learnt Organiser.

As per the reports, the ceremony was held to pay tributes to the firebrand Hindutva leader and founder of Ghar Wapsi campaign Dilip Singh Judev on his death anniversary, where a total of 45 people from the nearby region who were once converted through lure made a comeback to their bonafide religion.

The ceremony was headed by the senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) of the state including the incumbent state unit president, Arun Sao, who unvieled the statue of Dilip Singh Judev, Sao was accompanied by former union minister and state vice president of Chhattisgarh BJP Vishnu Deo Sai and incumbent lawmaker from Chhattisgarh, Gomati Sai.

Later on, Prabal Pratap Judev, a scion of the Jashpur Royal family and son of Dilip Singh Judev welcomed the returnees into the Sanatan fold by washing their feet with the sacred water of Ganges.

Those who reverted to the Sanatan fold were elated and expressed their happiness over returning to the faith of their ancestors. Among the returnees are two families of Khaira Kansabel, one from Patratoli Duldula, a total of three from Karma Rampur and four families from Gunmera Kansabel, all remote regions of Jashpur district.

Speaking with the media after the programme Prabal Judev while cautioning the locals about the menace of conversion asserted that “the way activites related to conversion are on a rise in this tribal dominated region, its high time that the Hindus of the locality should get united and fight against these anti-nationals.”

“The way incidents of conversion, cow smuggling, Love Jihad, Land Jihad, theft of ancient sculptures are occuring in the region, it evidently indicates that a much larger conspiracy being carried to destroy the Sanatani culture. If we don’t get united against them, then similar situation like North-East and Mewat will arise in this region, which would be unfortunate, only a united Hindu can build a strong Bharat”, added Prabal Judev.

Kumar Dilip Judev and brave ‘karyakartas’ of that time had kept Chhattisgarh strong with their sacrifice and martydom, now it’s our responsibility to follow their footprints and established Ramrajya in Chhattisgarh, quoted further, Judev while thanking the other prominent members in attendance.

Akhil Bhartiya Ghar Wapsi Abhiyan

It is to be noted that Prabal’s father, Dilip Singh Judev was known for commencing Ghar Wapsi Abhiyan in the tribal heartland in late 90s which popularized the very concept of Ghar wapsi of those Vanvasi who were once lured and converted to Christianity. Dilip Judev led several such campaign which feciliated the Ghar Wapsi of these innocent Vanvasiz who once fell prey to the lure of missionaries.

The movement garnered significant support in the erstwhile Sarguja region of undivided Madhya Pradesh, currently a division in the Chhattisgarh and highlighted the misdeeds of missionaries on the national level.

After the demise of Dilip Judev, the movement has been rejuvenated by his son and senior BJP leader Prapal Judev who under the banner of ‘Akhil Bhartiya Ghar Wapsi Abhiyan’ has been organising similar Ghar Wapsi ceremonies in the tribal dominated region of Sarguja and adjoining Odisha.

Earlier in a similar ceremony as many as nine people of two families have reverted back to Sanatana Dharma in Silfili area of Bhatgaon in Surajpur of Chhattisgarh on 2nd of this month.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier in a similar ceremony held in Jawahar Nagar of Durg in April this year, around 100 families were reverted to Sanatan fold from Christianity. As reported by the Organiser, the homecoming of these people is performed in the program under the name of “Rashtra Raksha Mahasammelan evam Ghar wapsi” jointly organized by the Sarvhitkari Manav Seva and other Hindu outfits working in the region.

In another similar ceremony held in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh around 1100 people belonging to around 300 families were also brought back to Sanatan fold in January this year. The ceremony which witnessed hundreds of locals make a comeback in the Sanatan fold was held on the third day of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita Katha.

In another such event around 1200 people mostly converted by the Christian missionaries were also reverted back to the Sanatan fold in a Gharwapsi ceremony organized in Katangpalli village last year.
