PM Modi speaks on Manipur crisis: ‘Country is with you, Peace will return soon in the State’

Indian PM Narendra Modi in his response to the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha exposed the Congress for not working towards the development of northeast and assured the people of Manipur that everything is possible is being done to restore normalcy in the state

Indian Prime  Minister Narendra Modi while speaking in the Lok Sabha spoke about the situation in Manipur and assured the people of the state that all possible steps are being taken to ensure that once again it treads on the path of growth and prosperity. While speaking in the parliament, he said, “Both the state and central governments are doing everything possible to ensure that the accused get the strictest punishment. I want to assure the people that peace will be restored in Manipur in the coming time. I want to tell the people of Manipur including women and daughters of Manipur that the country is with you…”

He further added, “I assure the people of Manipur that their state will once again return to the path of development. Centre ensuring strictest action against perpetrators of Manipur violence. Manipur will see the light of peace once again soon.”

PM Modi said that Biren Singh government working hard to develop and maintain peace in Manipur.

PM Modi takes Congress head on for keeping northeast underdeveloped 

PM Narendra Modi says, “Whose government was there in Manipur when everything used to happen according to the wishes of insurgent organisations? Whose government was there in Manipur when Mahatma Gandhi’s picture was not allowed in government offices, whose government was there in Manipur when the decision to not allow the national anthem in schools was taken?… Their (opposition) pain is selective. They cannot think beyond politics…”

PM Modi also lashed at Jawaharlal Nehru and added, “Former PM Nehru ensured that no development took place in the northeastern states: PM Modi. Congress’s rule is the origin of all the troubles plaguing the northeast.”

While speaking about northeast, he said, “You (Congress) have never tried to understand the emotions of Northeast. I have visited (Northeast) 50 times. This is not just a data, this is dedication towards Northeast.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi exposed the Congress on the northeast and said,  “…On 5th March 1966, Congress had its Air Force attack the helpless citizens in Mizoram. Congress should answer if it was the Air Force of any other country. Were the people of Mizoram not the citizens of my country? Was their security not the responsibility of the Government of India?…”
