Maharajganj: In a shocking incident reported from Nichlaul town of Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, a 22-year-old youth of Miyan colony was drowned to death by his three friends of the same locality when the former went with them to see Tazia on July 29.

As per the reports, Vishal Srivastava had gone with his three friends, identified as Dilshad and Zia-ul, residents of Miyan colony and Javed Ansari, a resident of Sunauli, to watch the Tazia procession. However, he didn’t return to home.

Troubled by the development, Vishal’s family members started looking for him; however, their efforts proved futile as no information about Vishal was traced out. The next day, Vishal’s father reached the police station and lodged a complaint about his son going missing.

The police started the investigation, and in the meanwhile, Vishal’s body was recovered from a nearby thin canal on July 30 evening. A few reports suggested that the body was found laying in a muddy patch under the canal without a shirt and was barefooted.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Vishal was murdered by his acquaintances, following which the Nichlaul police nabbed Dilshad, Zia-ul and Javed Ansari in connection with the murder on August 3. So far the motive behind the crime has not come to the fore as the Maharajganj police in a tweet only informed about the arrest of the accused.

Locals gathered near Vishal’s house before the funeral

Meanwhile, the relatives of Vishal claimed that he was first attacked on his head, following which the accused then cunningly framed the incident as an accident to hide their crime. However, the police on the basis of the postmortem report have said that Vishal was drowned to death.

Accused relatives of threatening Vishal’s family

It’s been reported that after killing Vishal the relatives of the accused are shockingly also threatening the deceased family members, as per a report published in a local daily the family members of Vishal was threatened by a female relative of one of the accused for dire consequences if they do not opt to withdraw their complaint in the case.

It’s been reported that Vishal was the elder among his siblings and was the sole breadwinner of the family, his father, Jagarnath Srivastava, reportedly had a broken leg.
