Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi have transformed the perception of the world and the majority of Bharatiya about the idea of Bharat and the globe. When the entire world is appreciating and seeing Narendra Modi as an inspiration to sort out socioeconomic issues, conflicts, and environmental concerns, a few with colonial mindsets who know these leaders’ simple backgrounds are unable to digest that a simple living person can reach, guide, and lead the world for betterment.
The thinking that states if you want to be great and do something great for society and nation, you need be rich, renowned, from a well-known family, and have a better external physical personality. The problems that not only Bharat but the entire world are facing are purely the result of these types of people and mentalities, and when characters like Vajpayee ji and Modiji have shown the better path with concrete work on the ground despite having such a simple background that no one would want for themselves or their children.
Let us look into the backgrounds of these leaders…
Both have spent the most of their lives as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Pracharaks (patriots who have dedicated their lives to the nation). If we consider the materialistic world, the life of Sangh Pracharak is rather different. The lifestyle they lead appears to be difficult for the bulk of us to emulate. Every cell in their body channels energy solely to benefit society and the nation.
A Pracharak can only be a full-time RSS volunteer who has been active for more than a year. Other requirements include being single (vairagya awastha), having a high level of self-discipline, and complete devotion to the organisation. In the majority of cases, someone decides to become a Pracharak despite knowing the worldly pleasures that society has invested energy in for transient delight and contentment. How can one get away with such intense needs and feelings at such a young age, when one’s harmones are escalating sexual impulses and attractions, and when one has to spend their life in society? Is it really that simple? However, for a pracharak, it happens naturally and effortlessly since they have accepted the “Idea of Bharat” with a greater vision. At an age when you may easily make a money-oriented life, a great superficial lifestyle, buy a huge vehicle, bunglow, and enjoy materialistic life, the Pracharak accepts a life of no salary, modest living.
Even for sustenance, they must rely on the homes of other Swayamsevaks. Whatever they obtain in food, they cheerfully consume as Bhagwan’s prasad. During Vajpayee ji’s and Modi ji’s tenures as Pracharak, they frequently did not receive food despite walking or cycling for several kilometers. There was no sign of displeasure on their face. Even the staying arrangement is basic. They, too, avoid the spotlight of the media. How can an ordinary person become a powerful force in bringing positive, long-term change to society in whatever path or area they choose?
Apart from SarSanghchalaks, Dattopant Thengadi ji, Deendayal Upadhyay ji, Nanasaheb Deshmukh, and many other Pracharaks have dedicated their lives and made major contributions to society. When compared to the world, this life appears difficult and unbelievable. However, the metamorphosis that occurs through time is incomprehensible. This transition does not take place on the surface; rather, it is the inner core that transforms and frees the person from jealously, wrath, fury, lust, and an egoistic attitude. It directs a person’s attention to a specific aim of “Param Vaibhavam” of the nation, without giving pause. This clarity brings wonderful leadership traits, such as remaining cool even in the worst of circumstances and working qualitatively 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Even though international leaders are aware that PM Modi follows an ideology based on Hindu dharma, they are attempting to follow in his footsteps since everyone has seen how this ideology is transforming Bharat and will undoubtedly assist to reform the world.
In most situations, the superficially developed personality, the expression of merely outward qualities, is essentially detrimental. The world is suffering solely as a result of superficiality since such people have never worked or looked into the unchanging core of individual and universal existence. To be a wonderful human being, you must go through this evolutionary process. While working with the outside world, the Pracharaks go through this process. On a regular basis, they meet a range of people with varying experiences; some are unpleasant, some are pleasant, but they maintain their calm when dealing with them. They embody the fundamental notion of “Attachment with Detachment.”
People’s attitudes about politicians, in particular, are skeptical, and the vast majority of people over the world do not trust politicians. The typical man’s belief is that their materialistic mentality causes them to be greedy, egoistic, and corrupt. When Pracharaks like Vajpayee ji, Deendayal ji, and Modi ji work differently in politics and follow people-friendly governance, the natural instinct which arises in the common people’s mind is that how come someone be so selfless, no agenda for family, have great vision and implementation on ground with no rest, destructive criticism from opponents still working with same enthusiasm, direct connection with common man. People are realizing that developing personal and national character, as RSS does, can result in good worldwide transformation.
You can agree or disagree with these great leaders’ decisions or ideologies, but their devotion to Bharat Mata cannot be questioned. Such leaders require enormous support in order to transform the nation based on “Bharatiyatva,” and we also require more Pracharaks in order to enhance every aspect of society. As a result, we should encourage young people to choose the role of Pracharak atleast for few years.
