Since evening a video has been in circulation where a man can be seen urinating on the face of another man. The accused has been identified as Pravesh Shukla and the victim is yet to be identified. The incident has been reported from the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh.

The video is shocking and condemnable. Within an hour or so of its circulation, the video was seen on the handles of prominent Dalit activists and influencers claiming the victim man is a Dalit.

Within hours of the reports, the Chief Minister of the state, Shivraj Singh Chouhan taking cognizance of the matter said, the state will take stringent action against the perpetrator and if required, will book him under NSA.

From his official Twitter account, Chouhan wrote, “A viral video of Sidhi district has come to my notice… I have instructed the administration to arrest the culprit and take strict action and also impose NSA.”

Here is the list of some prominent Dalit activists and handles who have posted about the incident:

The founder of Tribal Army Hansraj Meena wrote, “This mischief and insolence of BJP youth leader Pravesh Shukla who urinated on a poor tribal man in Madhya Pradesh is intolerable. This is the real face of BJP towards tribals. MP Administration should take strict action against Pravesh Shukla under SC ST Act. #ArrestPraveshShukla”

Dalit Times reported, “BJP worker Pravesh Shukla Crossing the limits of inhumanity in Madhya Pradesh, Pravesh Shukla was urine on the face of tribal youth. video viral on social media.”

Dalit activist Dilip Mandal wrote, “I don’t know who he is, what caste and religion he belongs to, but whatever it is, for this misdeed, the police should strip him naked, tie his hands and feet and hang him upside down until his fat melts. Its urine should go into its mouth. These people are the real enemies of the country.”

The Dalit Voice wrote, “Caste Hindu Pravesh Shukla pissed on Tribal youth. This incident happened in Madhya Pradesh.”

Later the handle shared an update stating, “Police have registered an FIR under sections 294, 504 of the IPC and SC/ST Act against one Pravesh Shukla. The National Security Act (NSA) is also being invoked against the alleged accused on the orders of the Madhya Pradesh CM.”

Notably, this is not the only atrocity against a tribal or a Dalit man in the country. We witnessed a similar atrocity incident against Dalits in Madhya Pradesh two days back, but not a single post came out in support of the victims or against the culprits. As all of them were Muslims.

We are talking about the case from Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh where two Dalit boys over allegations of harassing a woman over call were thrashed by Muslim men of the village. The attackers did not stop there, as they carried out a shame march, wherein they painted the faces of the men black, put shoe garlands on their necks and forced them to eat filth.

In this case, too the active Madhya Pradesh police arrested as many as six accused named in the FIR, and one of the accused mentioned in the FIR went absconding. The accused arrested are Ajmat Khan, Vakil Khan, Arif Khan, Shahid Khan, Islam Khan, Rahisha Bano and Saina Bano.

We tried finding Tweets in the above-mentioned handle against this crime but failed to find any. Netizens have reacted to the hypocrisy of these so-called Dalit activists by calling them a puppet to the fake ‘Bhim-Meem’ unity.

Some of the Tweets were:

A verified Twitter user wrote, “Ajmat Khan, Arif, Rahisha Bano etc. paraded two Dalit Hindu brothers publicly in Shivpuri, MP with soot on their faces. They are waiting for Dilip Mandal, Chandrashekhar Ravan and Owaisi for help.”

Another verified Twitter user wrote, ““A person who is an untouchable to a Hindu is also an untouchable to a Mohammedan” – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (Waiting for a Visa)”

A user wrote, “Where is Chandrashekhar Ravan is hiding Dalits faces are Blackned and paraded in the village by Muslims.”
