In a shocking development in Bihar, a lady mining inspector was chased and attacked by a group of people involved in illegal sand mining in the Parev village under the Bihta town area of the Patna district on April 17.
The incident occurred when the mining Inspector led team arrived on the spot for a routine inspection of the vehicle overloading. However, the team was chased by the henchmen of the sand Mafia, during which a lady mining inspector got trapped. It’s been reported that the inspector was dragged and beaten up by the violent mob.
In the viral video pertaining to the incident, a violent mob can be vividly seen pelting stones towards the officer, a number of people hurling abuses to the inspector can also be heard in the video, while a couple of miscreants can be seen dragging the lady inspector while the latter can be seen asking for mercy.
It’s been reported that after learning about the incident, a police team was immediately dispatched to the location to rescue the lady inspector, ” Speaking with the ANI, Rajesh Kumar, SP Patna, while confirming the incident, quoted “, A group of anti-social elements attacked a district mining officer while she was carrying out an operation related to sand mining in the area.”
In the incident, as many as three members of the team, including a lady officer and two mining inspectors, have been injured while 3 FIRs have been registered by the police in this matter in which a total of 44 people have been arrested so far, raids are on to nab the remaining accused, added SP Patna.
It is to be noted that this is not the first time that an inspection team has been attacked by the sand Mafias as in a similar kind of incident, a police team was attacked by a group of people involved in illegal sand mining near Shiv Bachchan Chowk under Sonapur police station limits of Saran district in February this year, the attackers also pour petrol on the members of the team and threaten to burn them alive.
While last month in another incident a personnel of the Bihar police was also got injured after henchmens of the local sand Mafia attacked a police team in Dalelchak village under Belaganj police station limits in Gaya district.
