For almost a week news coming from the state of West Bengal are disturbing. First, the attacks on the Ram Navami procession, followed by the ‘Friday Frenzy’ mob targeting Hindu residential spaces. Then Mamata’s denial of Islamists inciting the violence, as she said on camera that, the minority community was busy with Ramzan celebrations.

Later there was this ‘Datwat-e-Iftar’ party organised at state-owned Presidency University, followed by the arrests of two terrorists who managed to transport detonators and ammonium nitrate in Birbhum district. Also, an assault was reported by the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson, during his inspection drive for a rape and murder case of a minor.

This shocker comes up when a policeman in uniform can be seen dictating a peaceful Hindu man to remove a portrait of Bhagwan Ram from inside his house. The officer had a problem with the statue, which was visible from the road.

A video from the ground can be seen here:

Outrageous violence of TMC continues as their puppet police ask the people of Bengal to remove the Murti of Bhagwaan Shri Ram.

One cannot even practice the religion they stand for! This is Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal for you. pic.twitter.com/GmlD4KMLxa

— BJP West Bengal (@BJP4Bengal) April 6, 2023

The caption of the video says, “Outrageous violence of TMC continues as their puppet police ask the people of Bengal to remove the Murti of Bhagwaan Shri Ram.

One cannot even practice the religion they stand for! This is Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal for you.”

Notably, the man tell the officer that it was his private property and he need not to take permission from the administration to pray to Bhagwan Ram.

In this video mentioned above, one can see the statue or portrait of Bhagwan Ram placed outside the house. As Ram Navami was observed last week only, there are saffron flags and frills placed outside the house.

Placing statues and portraits of Bhagwan outside the house is a common practice in Hinduism. It is not new, as was taken by this officer. The name of the officer is yet to be revealed.

The state president for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bengal Sukanta Majumdar sharing the video wrote, “Bengal Police is now asking the people to remove Prabhu Shri Ram’s murti.

Are these your orders, @MamataOfficial? The public is watching your Anti Hindu acts.”

To have an idea about Bengal’s condition right now, readers can go through these reports by Organiser Weekly.

The Ram Navami violence where Mamata said, “The attacks were planned by the BJP goons”

“One can easily understand the people who started the violence were not localities. They were hired by the BJP and were carrying guns and petrol bombs. They first attacked people from the minority community,” she alleged.
