A 13-year-old boy kidnapped from the outskirts of Kanhauli village under Bitha police station on Thursday, March 16, was found murdered on March 20; as per some local reports about the murder, the boy’s body has been recovered in a half-burnt state.

It’s been learnt that the boy named Tushar, son of Rajkishor Pandit, a government school teacher, was kidnapped by one of the acquaintances of Pandit, the accused who the police have arrested from Boring Canal road is identified as Mukesh Kumar, it’s been reported that Kumar resided in the same village and runs a school there.

As per the initial report Kumar who was familiar with the financial status of Pandit opted to kidnap his son for ransom as he was going through a huge financial crisis, it’s been learnt that Kumar had borrowed money from some local lenders to run a school in the area however poor rate of admissions in his school forced him to shut down his business.

Speaking on the development, SSP Patna Rajeev Mishra said that the accused had borrowed money from local leaders and was under a huge debt of Rs 20 lakh, his business was shut down and he was unable to return the borrowed money, hence he had planned the kidnapping of Tushar.

It’s been learnt that after kidnapping the boy Kumar took him near the hospital complex and killed him, he later burnt his body to conceal his identity, it was only after killing Tushar, the accused started sending voice notes to his father in which he sought for ransom of Rs 40 lakhs. In the note sent the accused Kumar also threatened to kill Tushar if his demands are not met.

It is to be noted that Tushar was the only son of his father as Pandit has six elder daughters to him, it’s been reported that the boy’s body has been sent for postmortem to Patna Medical College and Hospital.
