The Canadian Border Security Agency (CBSA) has issued notices to as many as seven hundred students living in Canada after admission offer letters to educational institutions were found to be fake. These students will now be deported back to India. It has been reported that these students had fake Visa documents.

These students have completed their two years diplomas and were provided work permits. Seeking permanent resident status these students then submitted their documents to the immigration department of the country. Following the submission, their documents were thoroughly verified and then the fraud came to light.

As per a report by IANS, these students applied for their study visas through Jalandhar-based Educational Migrant Services (EMS). The service-providing unit is headed by Brijesh Mishra. In exchange for the study visas, Mishra took hefty sums of money ranging between sixteen to seventeen lakhs from each student. The fees included expenses for their admission, accommodation and others.

However, this fee did not include air tickets and security deposits. These students went to Canada in 2018-19.

One of the victim student Chaman Singh Batth while speaking with the media said, that after passing out from class 12 he applied for study visas through Brijesh Mishra-led Education Migration Services in Jalandhar. He provided him with the visa.

Upon landing in Toronto, Batth told that he and the other students who were heading to Humber college got a call from Mishra who told them that all seats in the courses offered to them got filled.
