Kerala: Amit Shah sounds Lok Sabha poll bugle in Kerala, targets CM Pinarayi Vijayan on corruption

Home Minister Amit Shah paid tributes to the workers of BJP and Sangh swaymasevaks brutally killed by CM goons in Kerala during the last several decades.Home Minister was addressing a mammoth BJP rally in Thrissur on March 12, 2023. He said the programme is the beginning of the party’s campaign for the Parliamentary Elections of 2024. He appealed to Keralites, with folded hands, “to vote for Modiji” in 2014 when his regime turned ten years old.

“PM Modi has been saving our country and our compatriots for the last nine years. During that period, NDA did what Congress, United Front and UPA did not during 70 years. In 2014, Bharat was No: 11 in the realm of the world economy. Now, we are no: 5. PM Modi made our country secure and safe. During UPA rule, the Pak army and terrorists beheaded our soldiers. But, UPA rulers kept mum due to their minority vote bank politics. But, when the Pulvama incident occurred, Bharat retaliated with the surgical strike in ten days” he appealed to vote for PM Modi’s rule to make our country numero uno in all fields.

Amit Shah continued that communists are rejected the world over. And the people of Bharat have rejected Congress. He requested the Keralites to vote for BJP not only in the parliamentary elections but also in the next Kerala assembly elections; it is essential for the development of not only the whole Bharat but also for the development, safety and security of the State of Kerala.

Amit Shah said recently CPM and Congress rubbed shoulders in the Tripura assembly elections. The same people fight each other in Kerala for the sake of the slices of bread of power. The people of Tripura gave a clear mandate to BJP while the other two struggled for their existence, but in vain. Congress lowered our country to the level of the deepest abyss. Our Prime Minister elevated our country to the pinnacle of glory in the international arena.

One Congress leader recently said that they ‘would dig our PM’s grave’! Home Minister told Rahul Gandhi that the more he insults and denounces Modiji, the more lotus will blossom in this country. He said that Keralites do not approve violence and communists.

Minister asked what UPA 1, supported by leftists, does for Kerala. He presented the comparison between the grants extended by UPA 1 and NDA Government to Kerala.

In 2019 – 2014, Kerala got, from the centre, Rs 45,900 cr as tax share and grants. But, the Modi Government granted Rs 115,000 cr to Kerala during the first five years. He asked the Keralites to compare Rs 49,500 cr with Rs 115,000 cr. Both Congress and communists should explain this.

The support price for copra (dried coconut) was Rs 5,250 per quintal during UPA days. But, the NDA rule hiked it to Rs 11,250.

PM Modi’s regime included Beypore and Kumarakam in the Swadeshi Darshan scheme.

Union Government has approved 320 kV 2000 MV power for Thrissur. Kasaragod has been granted 500 MW solar power scheme.

Kochi Metro has already been inaugurated by PM recently. Rs 1,957.05 cr has been approved for the second phase from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to InfoPark via Kakkandu. The length will be 11.17 kms with 11 stations.

Three railway stations, namely, Ernakulam Junction, Ernakulam Town and Kollam, are getting airport-like sophisticated facilities. Thiruvananthapuram – Mangalapuram railway electrification is completed. It is going to make a lot of difference for Sabarimala pilgrims.

Union Government has approved Rs 720 cr for various schemes in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Rs 55,000 cr has been approved for H 66; the lion’s share of it has been spent.

Rs 6,000 cr approved for BPCL’s petroleum complex.

Communists did nothing for the poor; lip services are the only give-outs. Thousands of people get Rs 6,000 each as PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Rs 8,500 cr has been allocated for MGNREGA in Kerala, the highest among other states in the country. Rs 317 cr has been approved for the facility enhancement for Guruvayoor pilgrims.

PM Modi saves Kerala and its people from the terrorism of the Popular Front of India (PFI). NDA Government eradicates them from this country. When PM Modi’s Government banned PFI, neither communists nor Congress welcomed it, thanks to their minority vote bank politics. But, BJP will not compromise with anti-national forces.

Amit Shah pointed out the hot issue of the imprisonment of M Sivasankar IAS, the former Principal Secretary of Kerala CM Pinaryi Vijayan, in connection with the infamous Life Mission scam. CPM owes an explanation to the people of Kerala. But, they are mum. Gold smuggling, they are again mum. He asked CPM if they think that Kerala would let them go scot-free in 2024. They will have to answer the people before voters go to EVMs.

Home Minister said that the State is in a debt trap. Kerala’s Finance Minister admits this fact. CPM appoints their party men in all posts. Either Congress or communists cannot bring development to the State.

Home Minister referred to the hot and grave fire in Brahamapuram wasteland, Kochi. It started on March 2, but still, even today, March 13, it is not extinguished yet. Still, the Government does not talk properly about it.

BJP State president K Surendran delivered a presidential address. He criticised LDF in view of the Brahmaputra crisis.

Malayalam filmdom’s matinee idol Suresh Gopi, former MP (RS) said that if the party fields him in 2014 in Thrissur parliamentary constituency, he will come out with flying colours. He came down heavily on CPM secretary M V Govindan over his remarks that ‘charity is not politics’. He replied Govindan that charity is culture. He asked Govindan when did charity ceased to be politics. Whoever Govindan comes to oppose, voters of Thrissur will vote for BJP. Opi, the most popular face of Kerala BJP, famous for charity activities, said that the people of Thrissur know what he has done for them. He challenged that he was ready to fight CPM even in the Kannur Parliamentary constituency, the bastion of CPM in Kerala, the home district of CM Pinarayi Vijayan, State secretary M V Govindan, LDF convener E P Jayarajan and two other Jayarajans (P and M V), veteran CPM leaders. He told Amit Shah that he would go to Kannur if leadership asked him to. It is to be remembered that CPM goons have killed hundreds of workers of Sangh and Sangh-inspired movements since 1969 in the Kannur district alone.

Thousands of party workers and sympathisers thronged historic Vidhyarthi Corner in Vadakkumnatha Temple Grounds aka Rounds or Thekkinkadu, designed by Shakthan Thampuran (1751 – 1805, the legendary King of Kochi, the architect of Thrissur city. He launched the world-renowned Thrissur Pooram, which earned deserving space for Thrissur on the world tourism map. Earlier Home Minister paid floral tributes before the statue of Shakthan, along with state leaders.

BJP’ Kerala Prabhari Prakash Javdekar MP, Union Minister V Muraleedharan, National executive member Metroman E Sreedharan, former DG of Police Jacob Thomas IPS, Kerala NDA convener Thushar Vellappilli, former State presidents B Gopalakrishnan and Adv K K Aneesh were on the dais.

Later Home Minister addressed BJP workers of the Thrissur parliamentary constituency.
