Telangana: On March 9, D Pawan was allegedly stabbed to death by two persons outside his residence in Hyderabad’s Shaheen Nagar area.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Maheshwaram, Ch Srinivas, said, “A murder was reported in Shaheen Nagar at around 12 am. Pawan [the deceased] came out of the house to use washroom at midnight. Suddenly his family members, who were awake, heard him shouting and they rushed out of the house to found Pawan lying in a pool of blood.” He added that the Pawan’s family members saw two people flee the spot.

Telangana Police said that Pawan was rushed to Osmania Hospital, though he succumbed to his injuries. Telangana Police is investigating the incident. However, Pawan’s kin alleged foul play stating that he was in a relationship with a Muslim girl.

In 2022, Billapuram Nagaraju was allegedly killed by the brothers of his wife, Syed Ashrin Sultana, in Hyderabad. The Telangana Police said, “The deceased was travelling on a bike with his wife. They got married recently and both belonged to different communities. Brothers of the deceased’s wife today assaulted Nagaraju and then attacked him with a rod and killed him on the spot. Two brothers of the deceased man’s wife have been identified as the accused and the police have formed special teams to nab them.”

In an interview with ANI, Nagaraju’s sister Ramadevi said, “My brother got married to girl three months back. Soon after that, we filed a complaint at Mominpet police station regarding life threats from the girl’s family. Due to the negligence of the police, today I lost my brother.”

She added, “There is no one to take care of my family now. He was the sole bread earner in the family. We need justice.”
