New Delhi: Congress leader and a sitting Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks in London that the Indian democracy is under attack have been now criticised by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Without taking names, Dhankhar, on March 9, said, “How can we justify such wanton orchestration of a factually untenable narrative?”

Speaking at a book launch function, the Vice President criticised Congress MP stating, “How ironic, how painful. While the world is applauding our historic accomplishments as a functional vibrant democracy, some among us, including parliamentarians, are engaged in the thoughtless, unfair denigration of our well-nurtured democratic values”.

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has cautioned that while it’s not necessary to react to “his Foolish Statements, but the problem is that his Anti-India statements are misused by the Anti-India Forces to tarnish the image of India”.

People of India know Rahul Gandhi is Pappu but foreigners don't know that he is actually Pappu.

Dhankhar also said that he would be on the wrong side of the Constitution if he maintained silence on this misadventure-orchestration by a Member of Parliament outside the country, which is ill-premised, unwholesome and motivated.

Addressing MBA students at the Cambridge Judge Business School, Rahul Gandhi recently said, “Indian democracy is under attack. The institutional framework which is required for a democracy — Parliament, free press, the judiciary, just the idea of mobilisation — these are all getting constrained. We are facing an attack on the basic structure of democracy”.

Earlier, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also had directed his ire against Rahul Gandhi.

“In a big university, he (Rahul) is telling people bad things about India. While even Pakistan no longer dares say these things about India on a global forum, Rahul Gandhi is presenting it as a place where democracy is no longer there and the judiciary has been compromised,” Sambit Patra said.

He had further said, “Just because you are not a bright kid and not a bright kid of your dynastic party doesn’t mean India is not a bright spot”.

In a series of tweets, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “This self-declared Congress Prince has crossed all the limits. This man has become extremely dangerous for India’s unity. Now he’s provoking people to divide India. India’s most popular and loved Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s only mantra is ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”.
