New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) 2020 report.

In this report, Gujarat has been ranked as ‘Top Achievers’ in the valuation of all the states & union territories. In this category, Gujarat is joined by Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

In a feedback-based assessment, Gujarat secured the second position with a score of over 90 per cent while Andhra Pradesh topped this index. It is noteworthy that Gujarat has registered a leap of 8 positions from where it was last time around in this index.

The assessment was conducted by the Union Govt’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and is based on the quality of implementation of the reforms by the states and union territories.

It’s significant that Gujarat is among the two states that have shown 100% implementation of the 301 reforms of DPIIT.

Speaking on the achievements, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel said,” We are making efforts to make business easy and accessible in the state through a reduction in the burden of regulatory compliance.

Till now we have reduced more than 2,900 compliances which has made establishing business in the state easier and & simpler.”

Ranking of Gujarat among the ‘top achievers’ shows that we are moving ahead in the right direction, the Chief Minister said.

“We are striving hard to realise the dream of the Prime Minister to make India self-reliant. It is our aim to make Gujarat an epicentre of the industrial sector not only in India but in the entire world,” CM Patel said.
