BJP leader from Punjab Jagjit Singh has filed a plea in the supreme court. Jagjit Singh had contested from Sardurgarh seat on a BJP ticket in the recently conducted legislative assembly elections in Punjab.

The plea filed through Advocate Sarthak Chaturvedi, Namit Saxena & Shubham Jaiswal submits a storm of fear and terror in the state of Punjab, which warrants interference by the Supreme.
Court as fundamental rights of the entire population of Punjab has been jeopardized.

The plea also submits that the brutal murder of Sidhu Moosewala is a glaring example where the conscience of the community at large has been shocked, and the people of Punjab are confident that the state will do no effective investigation; instead, it will try to cover up its failure by removing the security cover and the incident deserves to be investigated by a central agency.

The plea submits that the case involves inter-state and international crime syndicates. It is expedient in the interests of justice if the investigation related to the present FIR is transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The plea also submits that the state of Punjab is ridden with the menace of drugs and gun culture. Unfortunately, the state has not ridden itself from the movement of separatists seeking the establishment of Khalistan. Therefore, the possibility of the involvement of separatists in the murder also cannot be ruled out. The matter at hand deserves investigation by a central agency such as CBI.
